There is no proven universal winner between ScreenshotOne and ApiFlash. Based on their published plans and documentation, ApiFlash has the lower paid entry price and a larger top listed monthly quota; ScreenshotOne Basic costs more but includes twice the screenshots of ApiFlash Lite and documents more output and workflow options. Neither vendor’s feature list establishes how accurately or reliably it will render your particular pages. Choose by matching expected volume, output requirements, rate limits and representative-site results—not by assuming a published feature list predicts performance.
If you want a third option, try ScreenshotNeo first: it removes known consent banners, popups and chat widgets before capture, and only clean shots are billed.
What ScreenshotOne and ApiFlash do
Both are hosted screenshot APIs. Your application sends an HTTP request with a page URL and rendering options; the service loads the page and returns an image or other supported output. Both document access-key authentication and HTTP request integration. ScreenshotOne documents GET and POST requests, including JSON request bodies; ApiFlash documents an HTTPS endpoint that accepts GET and POST.
This comparison is based on the vendors’ published pricing and documentation. Prices and included features can change, so confirm the current terms on ScreenshotOne’s pricing page and ApiFlash’s site before committing. The available material does not establish an independent, controlled speed, uptime or visual-fidelity winner.

ScreenshotNeo yearly billing gives two months free. ScreenshotOne’s listed plans include pay-only-for-successful-requests language, image formats, PDF rendering, HTML rendering, full-page screenshots, caching, S3 upload, webhooks, signed links and stealth mode. Its Growth plan adds location choice, scrolling screenshots and video; Scale adds GPU rendering and priority support. ApiFlash also describes custom enterprise plans. These are vendor-described offerings; similar labels do not prove equivalent implementation or results.
Reading the price differences
- Lower paid entry: ApiFlash Lite is listed at $7/month for 1,000 screenshots; ScreenshotOne Basic is $17/month for 2,000. ApiFlash costs less to start, while ScreenshotOne Basic includes twice the listed monthly quota.
- Higher named volume: ApiFlash Large lists 100,000 screenshots for $180/month; ScreenshotOne Scale lists 50,000 for $259/month. The support and feature bundles differ, so do not treat these as identical plans.
- Usage accounting: ScreenshotOne says successful uncached unique renders count toward quota while cached shots and unsuccessful renders are handled differently. Its pricing page also lists usage alerts and configurable hard limits. Check the vendor’s current counting rules before estimating spend.
Outputs and documented capabilities
| Area | ScreenshotOne | ApiFlash |
|---|---|---|
| Documented output types | PNG, JPEG/JPG, WebP, GIF, JP2, TIFF, AVIF, HEIF, PDF, HTML and Markdown. | JPEG, PNG and WebP. |
| Capture and rendering options | Full-page screenshots; HTML rendering; PDF and text representations; other listed workflow options vary by plan. | Viewport dimensions, full-page capture, image quality, page scrolling, freshness/cache controls and cache TTL. |
| Storage and delivery examples | Pricing page lists S3 upload, webhooks and signed links. | Homepage lists S3 export. |
| Request interface | HTTPS, GET and POST; JSON request bodies; the options documentation requires one of Markdown, HTML or URL. | HTTPS endpoint supporting GET and POST; valid access key required. |
ScreenshotOne’s options documentation describes access keys and optional signed requests. Its API guidance recommends HTTPS and says HTTP remains for legacy compatibility; it documents a 100 MiB maximum POST body. ApiFlash’s documentation describes its request and capture controls, but its listed output formats are narrower in the cited material. Confirm the exact option, plan and response format you need in the provider’s current documentation: ScreenshotOne documentation and ApiFlash documentation.
Rate limits, failures and reliability
ApiFlash rate behavior
ApiFlash documentation specifies a limit of 20 requests per second with a burst size of 400; requests beyond the burst are terminated with HTTP 429. The same documentation separately describes rate limiting for repeated identical failed captures. Treat this as documented API behavior and recheck the current operational terms before designing a production client.

What the published numbers do not prove
ScreenshotOne reports 3,800+ active developers, 99.957% uptime over the last 30 days and 6.6M+ screenshots rendered, all as ScreenshotOne-published figures in 2026. These claims are not independently audited or directly comparable reliability statistics. The available published material does not establish matched testing, contractual service-level terms, or a neutral uptime comparison between the providers.
How to choose for your workload
1. Estimate effective monthly cost
Start with typical and peak monthly capture counts. Include overage charges, cache behavior, successful-render accounting and concurrency controls. The ApiFlash Lite tier is the lower paid starting point; ScreenshotOne Basic includes more listed screenshots. Because tiers do not align exactly, calculate the cost at your expected volume rather than comparing entry prices alone.
2. Identify required outputs and workflow
If you need PDF, HTML or Markdown rendering, video, webhooks, signed links or a specific storage flow, verify the exact option and plan before selecting a provider. ScreenshotOne explicitly lists several of these capabilities. ApiFlash’s cited homepage emphasizes image output, full-page and mobile capture, ad and cookie blocking, and S3 export. Do not assume that one vendor’s feature name means the other implements the same behavior.
3. Test your actual pages
Run representative URLs through a small evaluation before migrating or setting production expectations. Include ordinary pages plus pages with lazy-loaded images, consent dialogs, authentication, dynamic content and unusually long documents. Check whether fonts, scrolling, page state and viewport dimensions meet your needs. Vendor feature lists alone cannot establish how a target site renders, and the published sources do not provide an independent matched test.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
4. Check peak-rate and failure handling
Compare the documented request rate and burst behavior with your application’s traffic. Decide how your client will handle HTTP 429 responses, timeouts and failed renders; use bounded retries with backoff rather than retrying immediately in a tight loop. Check how cached results, repeated failures and unsuccessful captures affect billing and quota for the plan you intend to use.
5. Review integration and operational fit
Confirm request method, access-key handling, output delivery, regional requirements, support tier and data handling with each provider. The cited sources establish API-key-based integrations but do not provide a complete independent security or privacy comparison. Avoid sending credentials in URLs that may be logged unless the vendor’s documented method and your own logging controls make that acceptable; prefer the provider’s documented secure integration pattern.
ScreenshotNeo as another option
If neither comparison tier fits, try ScreenshotNeo first. It is a website screenshot API and MCP server from Yorker Media. Its distinguishing workflow is designed to clean captures: it accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor, removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets, and lets you turn each step off. Only clean shots are billed; bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing. Responses include X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers to identify the result and billing status.

Migration and evaluation checklist
Before moving a workload, make a small test set and record what matters to your application. This keeps a price comparison from hiding rendering or operational mismatches.
- Choose URLs that cover normal, authenticated, lazy-loaded, consent-banner and long-page cases.
- Use the same viewport, output format and capture timing wherever both APIs support them.
- Compare the returned image or document against your required result, including missing assets, layout shifts and whether the page reached the expected state.
- Record response status, latency observed by your own application, quota changes and cache behavior. This is your workload-specific result, not a general benchmark.
- Exercise rate-limit and timeout handling in a controlled way before sending production traffic, and set budget or usage alerts where offered.
- Keep the provider credentials out of source control and rotate them if they are exposed.
Common implementation problems
HTTP 429 or terminated requests
For ApiFlash, its docs describe HTTP 429 when requests exceed the documented burst allowance. Reduce concurrency, queue work and retry with exponential backoff and jitter. For either service, verify current account and plan limits rather than assuming monthly quota is the only constraint.

Blank, incomplete or stale screenshots
A page may need more time, a particular selector to appear, or scrolling to trigger lazy loading. Test the provider’s documented wait, scrolling and freshness options. Also distinguish a genuine blank target page from an early capture; a screenshot API cannot infer your intended application state without a suitable capture condition.
Different output than expected
Check the requested format, dimensions, full-page setting and plan eligibility. ScreenshotOne documents more format types than ApiFlash in the cited options; if a particular output is mandatory, verify its availability in the current API docs and test the returned content type before building downstream processing around it.
Unexpected quota or cost
Review the provider’s cache and success-accounting rules alongside your request logs. ScreenshotOne says successful uncached unique renders affect quota and lists overage rates by paid plan; cache hits and failed renders are not equivalent to billable unique successes in its description. Set usage alerts or hard limits where available and verify current plan terms.
Credentials or request-body issues
Use the documented access-key pattern and HTTPS endpoint. For ScreenshotOne POST integrations, ensure the JSON body stays within its documented 100 MiB maximum. Avoid relying on HTTP except where legacy compatibility requires it, and confirm that URL encoding and the selected request method match the provider’s current examples.
Verdict
For the two services in the title, ApiFlash is the more economical published starting point and lists a larger maximum plan quota; ScreenshotOne Basic lists a higher entry cost but twice Lite’s monthly screenshots, with broader documented output and workflow options. The better fit depends on your volume, required outputs and how each service performs on your own representative pages. No independent evidence here establishes a universal rendering or reliability winner. If a clean-shot workflow and predictable treatment of failed captures matter, try ScreenshotNeo as the additional option described above.
