The right choice depends on whether you need selectable text and pagination (PDF), a pixel-faithful visual record (PNG), or a smaller compressed file (JPG).
Choose the output before you capture

Capture only pages and media you are authorized to reproduce. Wix’s protection guidance notes that browser behavior controls downloading and printing; it does not prevent screenshots or access through page source.
Method 1: Save a Wix page as a PDF with Print
Wix documents the browser print path: “To print site pages, press Ctrl+P on your keyboard. You can also take a screenshot of the relevant page and print it.” Use the published URL or a saved Preview, not the editor canvas.
- Open the rendered page. In the Wix editor, save your work and select Preview, or open the exact published page. Confirm that the page has the correct language, logged-in state, and responsive layout.
- Open printing. Press Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux. On macOS, use the browser’s File → Print command or the platform print shortcut.
- Select a PDF destination. Choose Save as PDF (or your system PDF printer).
- Set page options. Choose paper size, portrait or landscape orientation, margins, scale, background graphics, and a page range. Background graphics may be required for colored sections or hero images.
- Inspect the preview. Look for headings stranded at the bottom of a page, clipped sections, missing backgrounds, or a sticky bar repeated on every page. Reduce scale or margins, change orientation, or capture a smaller page range when necessary.
- Save descriptively. Include the Wix page name and capture date in the filename, such as
pricing-page-2026-09-29.pdf.
Print CSS can intentionally rearrange a page, hide navigation, or omit decorative backgrounds. That is useful for a readable document, but it is not always a faithful visual copy. For layout fidelity, use a full-page image method instead.

Method 2: Capture the entire Wix page in Firefox
Firefox can capture content beyond the visible viewport without stitching manual screenshots.
- Open the Wix Preview or published page and wait for fonts, galleries, and embedded widgets to finish loading.
- Use the page screenshot command (often available from the page actions menu) and choose Save full page, or open Developer Tools and enable the Take a screenshot of the entire page toolbox button in Developer Tools settings.
- Click the screenshot icon and save the resulting image. Firefox places a normal page-level capture in Downloads unless you choose another location.
PNG is the safer choice for small text, logos, and sharp UI edges. JPG is reasonable when the image will be viewed at normal size and file size matters. A very long Wix landing page can exceed practical image dimensions; in that case, export a PDF or capture logical sections separately.
Method 3: Capture a full-size image in Chrome or Chromium
- Open the rendered Wix URL. Let the first viewport settle, then scroll through the page once if sections or images are lazy-loaded only when they approach the viewport.
- Open DevTools with F12 or the browser’s Inspect command.
- Open the DevTools Command Menu, search for Capture full size screenshot, and run it. Chrome saves a PNG containing the full rendered page.
- If a carousel, menu, or dynamic section is wrong, perform the required click or hover first and run the command again.
A normal screenshot captures only the viewport. “Capture full size screenshot” is the DevTools command that includes content below the fold. If the page contains very tall canvases or unusual fixed-position elements, verify the output at several scroll positions.
Method 4: Automate Wix captures with Chrome Headless
Chrome’s command-line options are useful for repeatable archives, regression checks, and agencies that need the same viewport every time. Replace the executable name with the one installed on your system.

chrome --headless --print-to-pdf --no-pdf-header-footer https://example.wixsite.com/site/page--screenshot creates a PNG; --print-to-pdf creates a PDF. Add a wait strategy when Wix content is still loading. Chrome’s --timeout controls how long it waits before capture, and --no-pdf-header-footer removes the date, URL, and page-number decorations from the PDF.
For a reliable batch process, use a separate output directory, record the URL and viewport beside each file, and capture after a consistent wait. Headless Chrome still depends on network access, fonts, third-party embeds, and the page’s current state.

Set a consistent Wix viewport and responsive state
A Wix site can show different navigation, columns, and images at desktop, tablet, and mobile widths. In Wix Studio, use Preview controls to select a device size or define a viewport width and height before capturing. For an apples-to-apples comparison, record the viewport dimensions and browser zoom, and use the same dimensions on every run.
- Desktop: capture the width your audience or QA target actually uses; a wider viewport can change text wrapping and section height.
- Mobile: select a narrow Studio preview or emulate a mobile viewport in DevTools, then verify that the mobile menu is in its intended state.
- Retina/high-density displays: the CSS viewport may be unchanged while the bitmap has more pixels. Note the scale when comparing files.
Extensions for one-click export
GoFullPage
The Chrome Web Store listing describes PNG and JPG export, PDF export, continuous PDFs, standard paper-size PDFs, and smart page splitting. It suits readers who want a toolbar workflow and control over pagination. Store listings and permissions can change, so install it only from the official browser store and review the current permissions.
FireShot
The listing describes captures of the entire page, the visible part, or a selected region, with PDF, PNG, and JPEG export. It also lists editing, direct links in PDFs, and batch capture options. Those capabilities are convenient for annotated reviews, but verify that the current edition and permissions meet your needs.
Wix-connected option for agencies
The Wix App Market lists Site Page Screenshot Widget by Certified Code. Its listing claims full-page screenshots of any URL, desktop/mobile/tablet simulation, and geographic testing, with a free plan available. Treat those as vendor claims: check the current plan limits, output formats, data handling, and support before using it for production archiving.
When a PDF is better than an image (and vice versa)
- Choose PDF for printing, email, selectable text, search, and multi-page reading.
- Choose PNG for an exact visual record, design critique, pixel comparison, or a design board.
- Choose JPG when transfer size matters and modest compression is acceptable.
- Split very long pages into a paginated PDF or several logical images when one extremely tall bitmap is difficult to open or review.

Troubleshooting missing or incorrect content
Images or sections are missing
Wait for the page to finish loading. For lazy-loaded Wix sections, scroll through the page once, return to the top, and capture again. In automation, increase the wait or wait for a selector/network idle.
The PDF has unwanted headers or footers
Turn off the browser’s print headers and footers. In Chrome Headless, include --no-pdf-header-footer.
A cookie banner, chat bubble, or sticky bar covers content

The mobile layout is wrong

Fonts, animations, or embeds differ
Capture the published page in the same browser and viewport used by your audience. Pause animations where possible, wait for web fonts, and remember that third-party embeds can change independently of Wix.
