If Roblox crashes while an exploit is being injected, there is no supported fix for making the injection work. Roblox treats exploiting and cheating as a violation of its Terms of Use, and modified clients or software that changes Roblox’s behavior are prohibited. Continued use can lead to account deletion or other restrictions.
The safe solution is to remove the exploit and any modified Roblox client, check the device for unwanted software, and reinstall Roblox from an official source. The steps below also cover legitimate third-party software conflicts that can produce similar crash messages during normal Roblox use.
First, stop using the injector
Do not keep retrying the injection, disable Roblox’s protections, or download another executor as a replacement. Roblox warns that many exploit downloads are scams containing malware, including keyloggers and phishing software that can steal Roblox credentials and other personal information.
Close the injector and remove it from the computer. Also remove scripts, loaders, “DLL fixes,” modified clients, and browser extensions installed with it. Do not enter your Roblox password into an exploit website or a program claiming to “verify” your account.

Reinstall the official Roblox client
Use the section for your device. Reinstalling the official client is the supported remediation for a modified Roblox installation.
Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Uninstall or delete the modified Roblox installation and remove the injector.
- Restart Windows.
- Download Roblox from roblox.com, or install it through the official Microsoft Store listing.
- Before launching Roblox, ensure that the injector and other unofficial Roblox tools are gone.
- Run Roblox without any injection or client modification.
If Roblox still reports a modified version, make sure no other applications are running and restart Windows in Safe Mode. If Roblox works in Safe Mode, a background application is interfering with the normal client and should be identified and uninstalled.
macOS
On macOS 10.13 Sierra or newer, delete the modified Roblox installation and reinstall Roblox from the official Roblox website. Remove any injector, launcher, or extension that altered the client before reinstalling.

iPhone, iPad, Android, consoles, and Quest
Uninstall the modified app, if applicable, and reinstall Roblox from the relevant official app store. Avoid APKs, sideloaded packages, jailbreak tweaks, and unofficial app stores.

Perform a Windows clean boot
A clean boot starts Windows with non-Microsoft services and startup programs disabled. It is useful when Roblox works after removing the injector but still closes because an overlay, hook, security tool, recorder, or other background application conflicts with the client.

- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
msconfig, then press Enter. - In System Configuration, open the Services tab.
- Check Hide all Microsoft services. Do not disable Microsoft services before checking this box.
- Click Disable all.
- Open the Startup tab.
- Click Open Task Manager.
- Disable every enabled startup item.
- Close Task Manager and System Configuration.
- Restart the computer and launch the official Roblox client.
If the crash disappears, the clean boot has confirmed a background conflict. Re-enable services and startup items in small groups, restarting after each change, until the problematic program is identified. Uninstall that program or leave its Roblox-related overlay, capture, injection, or monitoring feature disabled. Restore normal startup settings after testing if you need the disabled programs.
Test Roblox in Windows Safe Mode
If Roblox continues to report a modified version after reinstalling, restart Windows in Safe Mode and test the official client there. If it works in Safe Mode, a normal-startup application is interfering. Remove the offending application rather than trying to bypass Roblox’s detection.

Turn off Windows debug mode
For “Boot integrity compromised” or “Critical system files are corrupt. Roblox cannot run,” Roblox identifies Windows debug mode as a cause. Disable it as follows:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
msconfig. - Open the Boot tab.
- Select Advanced options.
- Clear the Debug checkbox.
- Click OK.
- Click Apply, then OK.
- Restart Windows.
Clear Roblox files and repair a damaged installation
Corrupted temporary files can cause ordinary Roblox crashes, although clearing them will not make exploit injection supported. On Windows, remove the Roblox cache using the path Roblox documents:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
%localappdata%and press Enter. - Delete the Roblox folder.
You can also open %localappdata%Roblox and delete the Cache folder if you prefer to remove only cached data. Reinstall Roblox from the official website afterward.

If Roblox reports Failed to Load Library, possible causes include missing or corrupted DLL files, antivirus or firewall quarantine, outdated Windows or graphics drivers, and damaged installation files. Install pending Windows and graphics-driver updates, check your security software’s quarantine, and try switching between the Microsoft Store version and the desktop version from Roblox’s website.
Roblox also lists this administrator command for repairing the Windows component store:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealthOpen Command Prompt or Windows Terminal as administrator, run the command, and wait for it to finish. Then restart Windows. Roblox’s support article also recommends running System File Checker, but the exact SFC command is not shown in the retrieved version of that article.
Check whether the exploit compromised your account
If you downloaded an injector, DLL, “key,” or launcher from an unofficial site, treat the computer and account as potentially compromised.
- Remove the exploit, its downloaded files, and suspicious browser extensions.
- Run a full antivirus or antimalware scan.
- Restart the computer and run another scan.
- Change your Roblox password from a clean device if possible.
- Enable 2-Step Verification with an authenticator app.
- Review account activity and remove anything you do not recognize.
Do not reuse the new password on the exploit site or any other service. Roblox’s account-recovery guidance covers compromised accounts and recommends removing suspicious downloads and extensions, scanning, changing the password, and enabling 2-Step Verification.
What Roblox error codes mean in this situation
A crash after injection does not by itself establish that an account was banned. Roblox currently describes:

- The exact error message, including any displayed file path
- What happened after uninstalling and reinstalling the official client
- Whether Roblox works in Safe Mode or after a clean boot
Do not describe exploit-injection steps as a supported troubleshooting path, and do not send passwords, authentication codes, or downloaded exploit files to support. Use the official Roblox contact form.
If you are researching a security issue
Do not test a suspected vulnerability by injecting code into a live Roblox session. Roblox directs security researchers to its HackerOne program and limits in-scope research to the Roblox client binaries, game server, and web application under that program’s policy.
For ordinary players, the correct path is to remove the modified software, secure the account, and run the official Roblox client without injection.

Does Roblox Error 268 mean my account is banned?
Not necessarily. Roblox currently describes Error 268 as “You have been kicked due to unexpected client behavior.” Its official documentation does not state that Error 268 alone proves an account ban.
Why does Roblox say incompatible software?
