Can Canva Pro create a team invite link?
No—not through the design-sharing flow. A design link and a team invitation serve different purposes: a design link gives configured access to one design, while a team invitation adds an account to a team workspace.

How to get a Canva team invitation
If you need access to a team workspace, contact its owner or admin and ask them to invite the Canva account you want added. Canva’s team-creation guidance identifies owners and admins as the roles that manage team setup and membership.
- Decide whether you need access to one design or to the whole team workspace.
- If you need the workspace, contact its owner or admin and provide the Canva account they should invite.
- Open and accept the invitation using the account the owner or admin invited.
- Confirm that you can access the intended team workspace.
If you administer a team, check the plan attached to your account and use Canva’s team controls to manage membership. Canva describes Business as the current plan for creating teams. Do not assume that Canva provides a universal public team-join link.
What if there is no team invite link?
The official guidance reviewed does not establish a universal public team-join URL. Ask the team owner or admin to invite the account through the team’s controls. Do not use a URL from a design’s Share menu as a team invitation.

For access to one design, its owner can choose who may access it and whether they can view, comment, or edit. Those settings apply to that design; they do not make the recipient a member of the team.
How the recipient accepts the invitation
- Open the invitation from the team owner or admin.
- Sign in to the Canva account that was invited, or create an account if necessary.
- Accept the invitation as prompted.
- Check that the intended team workspace is available in Canva.
If you cannot access the workspace, confirm with the owner or admin which Canva account they invited and ask them to check the invitation.
Why you may not be able to invite someone
You are using Canva Pro
Canva positions Pro for solo creators and says Pro users cannot invite people to their team when sharing a design. A Pro design-sharing link is not a substitute for team membership.

You are not the owner or administrator
Canva’s team-creation guidance identifies owners and admins as the roles that manage team setup. If you are a team member who needs to add someone, ask the owner or admin to handle the invitation.
You are sharing a design, not inviting someone to a team
Design sharing controls access to one design. The owner can select access such as view, comment, or edit. To add someone to a team workspace, ask its owner or admin to invite their Canva account.

Team membership and design access
Team membership and design sharing are different. A design owner controls access to an individual design and can choose view, comment, or edit permissions. A team invitation, by contrast, adds an account to the workspace. Do not assume that sharing a design grants team membership or that joining a team grants access to every design.
Claims to avoid
- “Anyone can generate a free Canva Pro team link.” A design-sharing URL does not turn Canva Free or Pro into team membership.
- “Canva Pro users can invite people to their team through a design link.” Canva says Pro users cannot invite people to their team when sharing a design.
- “A design link is a team invite.” It grants configured access to one design, not general team membership.
- “Canva Teams is available for new sign-ups.” Canva says the plan is closed to new sign-ups and upgrades; existing subscribers may keep it unless they cancel or switch.
