Cloud hosting removes the need for your own computer and home connection to encode and transmit continuously, but it does not guarantee uninterrupted uptime or resolve music-rights issues.
You remain responsible for the source media, licenses, YouTube channel and event setup, and monitoring. Plan separately for a replay: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive.
How cloud streaming works
With local streaming software such as OBS, your computer encodes the presentation and sends it to YouTube over your internet connection. That computer and connection must stay available for the stream to continue. OBS notes that an unstable connection or a bitrate your connection cannot sustain can cause dropped frames.
A cloud service moves the playlist and encoder workload off your PC. You provide prerecorded media and connect the service to the intended YouTube Live event using YouTube’s current workflow. YouTube’s conventional encoder setup uses a Live server URL and stream key; keep the key private. Cloud hosting can let a feed continue without your PC, but service recovery, monitoring, limits, and uptime depend on the provider and should be checked rather than assumed.

Compare options by prerecorded-media support, storage and upload limits, playlist duration and entry limits, resolution, YouTube event integration, reconnect behavior and alerts, replay strategy, current price, and music-rights workflow. Vendor descriptions are not independent reliability tests.

Set up a prerecorded jazz stream
- Prepare your media and document your rights. Choose the visual loop and audio, and confirm that the license covers public live streaming on YouTube, relevant territories, duration, monetization, and replay or archive use. Do not assume that music described as royalty-free or licensed for ordinary video use also covers an always-on public live stream.
- Enable YouTube Live in advance. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours.
- Create or schedule the YouTube live event. Connect the cloud service using its current YouTube workflow. For a conventional encoder, YouTube instructs creators to enter the Live server URL and stream key. Keep the key private.
- Test before relying on the stream. Check the preview and audio sync, review the service’s stream health, and verify that the feed appears on the intended YouTube event.
- Plan for recovery and replay. Check provider limits, alerts, and reconnect behavior. Preserve your source files and arrange a separate recording if you need an archive.

Copyright and music licensing
Cloud hosting does not make music copyright concerns disappear. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it identifies such material, it may place a placeholder, warn the creator, and temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream if the material remains. A stream can also end after a copyright or Community Guidelines strike.
If you have licensed third-party content, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to the Content ID allowlist. A stream may be interrupted even when you have a license if the channel has not been allowlisted. YouTube for Artists advises: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” Confirm the actual license scope with the rights owner or distributor; do not treat a service label or a general video license as proof of live-stream clearance.

Plan for the YouTube replay
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends making a local archive. A continuous 24/7 broadcast therefore needs a separate replay plan if you want a durable recording; do not assume YouTube will split it into guaranteed replay files.
Test any recording workflow against storage capacity, the streaming provider’s limits, and your music rights, including replay rights. YouTube’s archive guidance does not guarantee that every shorter stream will be captured.

Can a 24/7 YouTube music stream run while my PC is off?
Yes, if a cloud service handles the prerecorded playlist and sends the feed to YouTube. Your home PC does not need to encode continuously, but the service’s terms and reliability should be checked.
