You can reuse a working request in Java without manually translating every part of it. For a saved Postman request, generate a Java snippet with Postman’s Code feature; for a copied cURL command, use a cURL-oriented Java library such as JQuickCurl; or build the request explicitly with Java SE 21’s HttpClient. Choose based on whether you want generated code, cURL to remain the input, or direct control over the Java request.
Start with the request you already have
If the request is in Postman, you can either generate cURL from it or generate Java code directly. If you have copied a browser request as cURL, you can import that command into Postman or keep it as cURL input for a Java library. Postman’s documentation covers both importing cURL as a request and generating cURL from a Postman request: Import cURL commands.
Importing a command into Postman does not require you to save it to a collection: Postman describes opening it as a request without saving, or adding it to a collection. The same documentation also shows how to generate a cURL command from a Postman request. An illustrative browser-copy workflow appears in the Postman API Network example.
Choose how you want Java to handle the request
| Approach | Best fit | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Postman Code snippet | Generate Java from a saved Postman request | Postman lists Java targets for OkHttp and Unirest; review and adapt the generated code to your project. |
| JQuickCurl | Keep a copied cURL command as the input to a Java library | The project repository describes parsing commands copied from a browser, Postman, or terminal into executable Java requests. Check its current release, maintenance, compatibility, and features before adopting it. |
Java SE 21 HttpClient |
Express request construction directly in Java | You control headers, body, timeouts, redirects, and synchronous or asynchronous sends. |
Generate Java from a Postman request
- Open the request in Postman. Confirm it is the working request, including its authentication and body settings.
- Open Code. In Postman’s request interface, open the Code snippet panel and select a Java target: OkHttp or Unirest. Postman documents these targets in its code snippet guide.
- Copy and inspect the snippet. Compare its method, full URL and query parameters, headers, body encoding, authentication, cookies, and redirect behavior with the original request.
- Adapt it before using it in the application. Fit the generated client code to your project’s dependency and error-handling conventions, and move credentials out of the snippet before committing it.
This route is most direct when Postman already holds the request and you want Java code in a supported client style. A generated snippet is a starting point, not proof that every detail will behave identically in your application.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use a copied cURL command as Java input
When you want to keep the copied command as the source, JQuickCurl is one option. Its repository describes a Java framework that parses cURL commands copied from a browser, Postman, or a terminal into executable Java requests. That is the project’s description; it does not establish independent test results or production suitability.
Before adding it as a dependency, check the repository for its current release, maintenance activity, Java compatibility, and the cURL features your command uses. After parsing, verify the resulting request against the known-good version: method, complete URL and query, headers, body encoding, authentication, cookies, and redirects. No fidelity benchmark is established for this approach.

Build the request explicitly with Java SE 21
Java SE 21’s built-in HttpClient is a suitable route when you want request behavior visible and configurable in Java rather than represented as a cURL string. The Java SE 21 API documentation describes synchronous and asynchronous sends, request body handlers, redirect configuration, timeouts, and reusing a client across requests.
This option involves expressing the request in Java yourself. Use it when that explicit control is preferable to a generated snippet or a cURL-parsing dependency; compare the resulting request with the original instead of assuming a manual rewrite preserves every detail.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Check fidelity and protect credentials
Whichever route you choose, compare the constructed request with the working one before relying on it. These fields can change the outcome:
- Method and URL: preserve the HTTP method, full URL, and query parameters.
- Headers and body: check content type, header values, body encoding, and whether the body is sent as expected.
- Authentication and cookies: identify tokens, credentials, and session cookies, and confirm how the Java application supplies them.
- Redirects, timeouts, and responses: check redirect behavior, timeout policy, and how the application handles responses and failures.
Browser-copied cURL commands can include authentication material. Postman’s cURL to Code Converter cautions that credentials should be moved out of a command before the result is committed. Treat cookies and tokens as secrets: redact them from examples and keep actual credentials in an appropriate environment or secret store.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
The available documentation establishes these workflows and APIs, but does not establish byte-for-byte fidelity across them. Validate behavior in the target application, especially where authentication, body encoding, redirects, or response handling matter.
