Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is Qualcomm’s entry-tier smartphone platform, announced on May 7, 2026. Qualcomm lists a 4 nm process, a Kryo CPU running at up to 2.4 GHz, an Adreno GPU and 5G connectivity. Early Geekbench 6 submissions for one OPPO device land around 976–978 single-core and 2,250–2,262 multi-core, but the small, device-based sample is not a controlled chip test or a reliable prediction of every phone’s performance.

Other early reports are close but not identical. Notebookcheck reports 976 single-core and 2,250 multi-core for the PYC110, and NanoReview lists the same Geekbench 6 figures. NanoReview indicates fewer than three Geekbench samples on its page. The slight score variation and small number of submissions make a firm ranking premature. Notebookcheck’s device report and NanoReview’s listing provide the additional figures.
AnTuTu 11 listing
NanoReview reports an AnTuTu 11 total of 624,021. This is an aggregator-listed result, not a score published by Qualcomm. AnTuTu and Geekbench use different test suites, so their totals cannot be compared numerically.

What Qualcomm claims about performance
Qualcomm says Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 delivers up to 77% improved GPU performance, 10% better power savings, 25% less screen stutter and 43% faster app launches compared with the previous generation. Qualcomm also describes 90 FPS gaming support as a first for the Snapdragon 4-series. These are manufacturer comparisons, not independently established outcomes for every phone or game, and they are not directly interchangeable with benchmark scores. Phone configuration and software affect results. Qualcomm’s announcement and stated comparisons gives the company’s context.

What the early scores do—and do not—tell you
Geekbench submissions measure a specific phone configuration running particular software; they do not isolate the processor under standardized retail-phone conditions. The early results offer a first indication of CPU performance, but cannot establish how a finished phone will behave in long gaming sessions, how much power it will draw, whether it will throttle under heat, or how long its battery will last. No multi-device controlled review dataset or independently verified battery-life figure is established here.

Notebookcheck characterizes the CPU improvement over the predecessor as modest, while its chipset page says the initial result shows no performance improvement in its assessment. That divergence reinforces why the underlying scores and their limited sample context matter more than declaring a definitive generational winner. Notebookcheck’s chipset page.
Which phones use Snapdragon 4 Gen 5?
When Qualcomm announced the platform on May 7, 2026, it named OPPO, realme and REDMI as the first brands expected to feature it, with commercial devices expected in the second half of 2026. The benchmarked OPPO PYC110 is associated by Notebookcheck with the unannounced OPPO A7 Pro Max, but that reported identity does not confirm final retail naming, sale, price or availability in any country. Is Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 good for gaming?
Qualcomm positions the platform for improved gaming and says it supports 90 FPS gaming in the 4-series for the first time. That does not guarantee a particular game will offer a 90 FPS mode, or that a phone will sustain it. Game settings, display refresh rate, cooling, software and the individual handset all matter. For a buying decision, look for testing of the exact phone that covers sustained frame rates and heat rather than relying on the chipset claim alone.
