You can generate Allure reports from Katalon Studio runs, but Katalon’s public documentation reviewed as of October 2026 does not document a first-party Allure adapter. The practical route is a listener-based bridge that converts Katalon execution events into Allure-compatible results, followed by Allure’s report generator. Treat community bridge installation claims as unverified until you check the project and validate it with your Studio, Java, operating-system, and CI setup.
How do I generate Allure reports in Katalon Studio?
Use a bridge between Katalon’s test lifecycle and Allure’s result format. Katalon provides test listener hooks, and Allure can generate a report from externally produced result files. Those capabilities make the integration feasible, but they do not mean Katalon’s JUnit XML output is automatically compatible with Allure.

- Choose and review a bridge. Confirm its primary repository, recent releases, supported Katalon Studio and Java versions, and whether it targets Allure 2 or Allure 3. Community posts describe bridges for both versions, but the posts are not Katalon compatibility guarantees.
- Connect Katalon execution events. A listener observes suite and test-case lifecycle events. The bridge must translate those events and relevant test details into Allure-compatible result data.
- Generate the report. Point the Allure report generator at the bridge’s result directory. Allure’s Gradle integration supports report generation from externally produced raw results; verify the bridge’s documented output path and generator invocation rather than assuming defaults.
- Validate the result locally and in CI. Run a small suite and check that outcomes, labels, suite metadata, retries, screenshots, and other attachments appear as expected. Also verify how report-generation errors affect the test process exit status.
Katalon’s listener documentation describes the hooks, while its official Extent Reports guide demonstrates that listeners can feed a separate reporting output. Allure documents Java adapters and report generation from external results; these pieces establish an integration pattern, not a ready-made Katalon adapter. Two Katalon Community posts describe third-party options. An August 8, 2026 post says its author’s Allure 2 bridge uses Katalon’s public Test Listener API, requires no changes to existing test scripts, and was verified by the author on Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI. A September 20, 2026 post describes an Allure 3 bridge and says it requires Node.js 18 or newer. These are claims made by the post authors, not independently established compatibility or support commitments. #1 Best Overall
Before running an installer or making a bridge part of a pipeline, check:
- The primary repository, release history, license, and maintenance activity.
- Supported Studio, Java, and Allure major versions, plus Windows, macOS, and Linux behavior.
- How the bridge is invoked locally and in CI, where it writes results, and how stale results are handled between runs.
- Whether it preserves screenshots, attachments, labels, retries, and suite metadata your team relies on.
- Dependency conflicts and whether a report-generation failure can change the test process exit status.
The community posts do not settle these implementation-specific questions. Test a representative suite before relying on a bridge for release decisions or historical reporting.
When Katalon’s built-in reports are enough
If the goal is an execution record rather than Allure’s reporting experience, Katalon Studio already documents JUnit, HTML, PDF, and CSV report outputs. The exact settings and HTML layouts vary by Studio version. Katalon’s report-settings documentation, labeled October 2026, describes settings for Studio 11.5.0 and says consolidated HTML is available from Studio 11.4.0. Its report-execution page was updated in July 2026. Check the documentation for your installed version before standardizing a format. Katalon report settings; Katalon test reports.

Extent Reports for a custom HTML report
Katalon’s documented Extent Reports integration uses a Store plugin and test listeners. It also describes custom keywords for logging and screenshots, followed by opening the generated HTML report. This is an official Katalon integration, but it is an alternative reporting library—not an Allure adapter. Katalon Extent Reports integration.
Katalon True Platform for centralized reporting
If the need is centralized reporting across teams rather than Allure-format output, Katalon documents uploading Studio test-suite and test-suite-collection reports to True Platform. Its integration documentation says individual test-case reports are not automatically uploaded by that integration. Katalon Studio integration with True Platform.
Choose based on the reporting requirement
| Route | Best fit | What to account for |
|---|---|---|
| Listener-based Allure bridge | Teams that specifically need Allure results and are prepared to validate a third-party integration. | Check Allure 2 versus Allure 3, metadata and attachment fidelity, version compatibility, CI behavior, maintenance, and failure handling. Community claims are not independently verified. |
| Katalon built-in reports | Teams that need standard execution records in documented formats. | Available formats include JUnit, HTML, PDF, and CSV; layouts and settings are version-sensitive. |
| Katalon Extent Reports integration | Teams seeking a documented custom HTML reporting integration. | Requires the documented plugin and listener setup; it produces Extent output, not Allure output. |
| Katalon True Platform | Teams seeking centralized reporting for supported Studio runs. | Automatic uploads apply to suites and suite collections; individual case reports are not automatically uploaded by this integration. |
No independent comparative testing establishes one route as faster, more complete, or more reliable. Evaluate against your team’s required metadata, attachments, CI workflow, version support, and tolerance for maintaining an integration.
