The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G is a 2021, 6 nm smartphone platform with a Kryo 670 CPU running at up to 2.4 GHz, an Adreno 642L GPU and an X53 5G modem. Its benchmark scores and advertised features are not guarantees for every phone: handset design, cooling, software, regional configuration and manufacturer choices all matter.

Snapdragon 778G specifications

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 778G 5G on May 19, 2021. The specifications below describe capabilities of the platform; a phone maker decides which components and features to implement in a finished handset.

Component Snapdragon 778G specification
Manufacturing process 6 nm
CPU 64-bit Kryo 670, up to 2.4 GHz
GPU Adreno 642L; OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP and Vulkan 1.1 support
AI processor Hexagon 770; 6th generation Qualcomm AI Engine
Image signal processor Spectra 570L triple ISP; support for three concurrent camera streams and HDR10+ capture
Modem-RF Snapdragon X53 5G; supports mmWave and sub-6 GHz, SA and NSA modes, FDD and TDD, and Dynamic Spectrum Sharing
Peak 5G downlink Up to 3.7 Gbps, a platform specification rather than a real-world or handset guarantee
Display On-device FHD+ up to 144 Hz; external display output up to 4K at 60 Hz
Wi-Fi and charging Wi-Fi 6E through FastConnect 6700; Quick Charge 4+

These are platform-level capabilities. A phone may omit or limit a feature, and actual radio bands, camera modes, memory, display behavior and charging support depend on the handset and its market.

What Snapdragon 778G benchmark scores show

There is no single score that every Snapdragon 778G phone should produce. Benchmark results vary with the handset, thermal management, memory, software, test version and run conditions. Compare results from the same benchmark version, and identify the phone when the result comes from a device listing.

#1 Best Overall
Orbic Myra 5G (64GB, 6GB) 6.78" HD+, Snapdragon 750G 8-core Processor, 48MP Triple Camera, 5G / 4G LTE (Fully Unlocked for T-Mobile, Metro, Verizon) US Model (256GB SD Bundle, Black)

Source and test Reported result How to read it
Geekbench mobile listing: Samsung Galaxy A52S 5G with Snapdragon 778G 818 single-core; 2,869 multi-core Live device listing accessed October 7, 2026; the figures belong to that listing, not every 778G phone.
Notebookcheck: Geekbench 6.7.1 for Snapdragon 778G 1,026 single-core; 2,775 multi-core Benchmark database data accessed October 7, 2026; it is a different test/version context from the Geekbench mobile device listing.

Do not combine these results into a definitive “Snapdragon 778G score” or use them as a direct comparison without matching the benchmark version and test conditions. The listings include other 778G-equipped models, but results for one model do not establish how another will perform.

How to interpret Qualcomm’s performance claims

In its May 19, 2021 launch announcement, Qualcomm said the Kryo 670 offers “up to 40% uplift in overall CPU performance” and that the Adreno 642L is designed for “up to 40% faster graphics rendering” compared with the previous generation. Those are Qualcomm’s vendor-stated generational comparisons, not independent head-to-head benchmark results or a promise of a 40% advantage over any particular competing chip.

For a practical comparison, look beyond headline CPU figures. Match benchmark versions, compare single-core and multi-core results separately, and consider graphics or the specific game workload. Sustained performance and heat depend on the individual phone. Camera, display and network capabilities also depend on the manufacturer’s implementation and the relevant regional model.

What Snapdragon 778G means for gaming, cameras and 5G

Gaming and graphics

The Adreno 642L and listed graphics APIs describe the platform’s graphics capability, but they do not guarantee a particular game’s frame rate or sustained quality. The phone’s cooling, software, display resolution and the game’s settings affect the experience. For comparisons, use results from the same game or graphics benchmark on the specific handsets you are considering.

Cameras and AI

The Spectra 570L can support three concurrent camera streams, and Qualcomm lists HDR10+ capture capability. These are options for phone makers, not assurances that a retail phone has three usable rear cameras, a particular camera mode or a specific image quality. Sensor selection, camera software and enabled recording modes are handset decisions.

5G and wireless features

The X53 platform supports several 5G technologies and Qualcomm lists peak downlink up to 3.7 Gbps. That peak is not an expected everyday speed. A phone’s supported bands and configuration, carrier deployment, signal and network conditions determine whether and how it connects. Check the exact phone variant and carrier compatibility rather than relying on the chip name alone.

Which phones use the Snapdragon 778G?

Benchmark listings identify the following phones with Snapdragon 778G variants:

  • Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G and Galaxy A73
  • Samsung Galaxy M52 5G
  • Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE and Xiaomi 12 Lite
  • Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro
  • Honor 50
  • Realme GT Master and GT Master Edition

Model names and configurations can differ by market, so verify the exact SKU before buying. A chipset listing does not establish current availability, software-support status, condition, seller quality or price.

Is a Snapdragon 778G phone worth considering today?

The 778G is an older platform introduced in 2021, so the chip alone is not enough to judge a used or remaining-stock phone. Assess the actual handset: its software-support status, condition, battery health, network-band compatibility, memory configuration and price. Confirm that the specific regional variant supports the features and carrier you need. A benchmark score can help compare performance, but cannot substitute for those checks.
