At U.S. launch, the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G cost $549.99 and the Galaxy A37 5G cost $449.99—a $100 difference. The A57 adds a Super AMOLED+ display designation, a higher-resolution ultrawide camera, and a thinner, lighter body. Both share a 6.7-inch, up-to-120Hz display size, 50MP main camera, 5,000mAh typical battery, IP68 rating, and the same maximum software-support commitment. Those are launch prices, not a promise of today’s price gap; compare current local prices for the same storage before deciding.

Specifications are Samsung-published figures. For its U.S. launch table, Samsung listed the viewable display area as 6.6 inches for the A57 and 6.5 inches for the A37 because it accounts for rounded corners; both are marketed with a 6.7-inch display. [Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement]
How much more did the Galaxy A57 cost?
U.S. launch prices
Samsung announced U.S. starting prices of $549.99 for the Galaxy A57 5G and $449.99 for the Galaxy A37 5G on March 25, 2026. The A57’s launch MSRP was therefore $100 higher. U.S. availability began April 9, 2026. These figures describe launch pricing; Samsung’s product pages can show changing prices and offers by storage, color, and selected SKU, so check the live checkout price for the exact configuration.
U.K. launch prices
Samsung’s U.K. announcement listed the A57 from £529 with 256GB storage and the A37 from £399 with 128GB. Because those starting configurations have different storage, the £130 difference is not a like-for-like comparison. Prices and availability in one country should not be treated as global pricing. What does the A57 add over the A37?
Super AMOLED+ panel designation
Both phones have a 6.7-inch FHD+ panel, refresh rates up to 120Hz, and Vision Booster. Samsung identifies the A57’s screen as Super AMOLED+ and the A37’s as Super AMOLED. That is a difference in Samsung’s panel designation, not evidence by itself of a particular brightness, color, or viewing advantage in every situation.
Higher-resolution ultrawide camera
The A57 has a 12MP ultrawide rear camera, compared with 8MP on the A37. Both have a 50MP main camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 12MP front camera. Megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone takes better photos; Samsung’s specifications do not provide an independent, controlled side-by-side camera test.

Thinner, lighter body
Samsung lists the A57 at 179g and 6.9mm thick, versus 196g and 7.4mm for the A37. That makes the A57 17g lighter and 0.5mm thinner by subtraction of Samsung’s published dimensions. It is also slightly shorter and narrower according to those measurements.
Different market configurations
Memory and storage choices depend on country. For the U.S. launch, Samsung listed the A57 in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB, and the A37 in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. Samsung’s global announcement lists more options in some markets: A57 configurations up to 12GB/512GB, and A37 configurations up to 12GB/256GB. Verify the local model and SKU rather than assuming a configuration listed for another market is available where you live. [Samsung Global Newsroom specifications]

What is the same on both phones?
Battery and charging
Samsung rates both batteries at 5,000mAh typical capacity. Its technical comparison lists 45W charging, while Samsung’s guide says the A57 can reach 60% in about 30 minutes under Samsung’s stated conditions. These manufacturer claims are not an independent battery-endurance comparison, and the cited figures do not establish that the two phones last the same amount of time in everyday use. Samsung says the charger is sold separately; the A57 U.S. product listing says the box contains the phone, data cable, and ejection pin, but no charger.
Software support and One UI features
Samsung states support of up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates from first global launch for supported devices. Timing can vary by model and market, and “up to” is a maximum commitment, not a guarantee that every regional SKU receives every update on the same schedule.

Samsung describes shared One UI 8.5 features including Voice Transcription, AI Select, Circle to Search improvements, and Object Eraser; its guide lists Best Face as an A57 feature. Feature availability may depend on country or region, One UI version, model, carrier, and age restrictions. These are Samsung’s stated capabilities, not independently tested outcomes. [Samsung’s Galaxy A57 and A37 guide]
Water and dust resistance
Both phones carry an IP68 rating. Samsung describes testing by lab submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. The rating does not mean waterproof: Samsung says water and dust resistance may diminish over time and does not recommend beach or pool use. [Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement]

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the A37 if the lower local price matters most and its available RAM and storage configuration meets your needs. At U.S. launch, it started $100 below the A57.
- Consider the A57 if you value the Super AMOLED+ designation, its 12MP ultrawide camera, or its slimmer and lighter body enough to pay the current local premium.
- Compare equivalent configurations. Check storage, RAM, color, retailer or carrier availability, and final checkout price in your market. A launch-price difference can change with discounts or different starting configurations.
Samsung Colombia’s comparison identifies regional model codes SM-A576B for the A57 and SM-A376B for the A37 and says neither supports memory-card expansion. Those details are specific to the Colombian models and should not be assumed to apply to every market. [Samsung Colombia’s comparison]
