To show a SkyTrak simulator on a projector, first connect the SkyTrak launch monitor to its app, then connect the computer or tablet running that app to the projector. These are separate connections: the monitor does not send the projected image directly to the projector. Once both links work, set the projector’s orientation and image format, then align the picture to your impact screen.
What you need before connecting the projector
Prepare the SkyTrak monitor and the device that will run the app. Register the monitor to your SkyTrak account, install the appropriate app for your supported PC, macOS, iOS, or Android device, and connect the monitor to the app. SkyTrak recommends internet access during initial setup so licenses and memberships can sync; purchasing a membership is distinct from installing the app and establishing a connection. SkyTrak documents three monitor connection modes. Choose based on the device and network setup you have, not on the projector:
- Direct Mode: Connects to the monitor over its Wi-Fi.
- Network Mode: Set up after Direct Mode; connects through your local network and supports automatic syncing.
- USB Mode: Connects the monitor to a PC by USB.
SkyTrak’s connection mode instructions cover the mode setup. The mode is for the monitor-to-app link; the projector still needs a video connection from the device running the app.

Connect the app device to the projector
For a straightforward setup, connect the PC or iPad that displays the SkyTrak app to the projector over HDMI. The Projector Set Up Guide describes an included HDMI cable, but package contents can vary. A Mac or iPad may need an HDMI adapter; check the ports on your device and what came with your projector or studio package. After connecting, select mirroring or an extended display in the device’s display settings, depending on whether you want the projector to show the same screen or act as a second display.
If you have the documented SkyTrak Studio 12 projector, its instruction manual specifies HDMI port 1. That port instruction applies to that equipment, not to projectors generally. SkyTrak’s Projector FAQ also describes wireless casting for an iPad or Mac; its wireless approach requires the SkyTrak monitor to be in Network Mode. Wired HDMI is a useful starting point when diagnosing a blank image because it avoids the additional casting connection.

Set projector orientation and image format
Match orientation to the physical mount
If the projector is mounted overhead on a ceiling or pole, choose the ceiling/pole orientation in its setup menu and accept the selection. A floor-mounted projector generally uses the default orientation. The exact menu labels can vary by projector, so consult the instructions for your model as well as SkyTrak’s Projector Set Up Guide.

SkyTrak’s projector guide specifies 4:3 for a PC and 16:9 for an iPad or tablet. Those are guide-specific recommendations, not a universal rule for every setup: a separate SkyTrak Studio 8 manual recommends 16:9 for both and allows 4:3 for PC. Follow the instructions for your projector or studio package, and choose a format compatible with the source device and impact screen. A mismatch can leave unused space or crop the image.

Align the projected image to the impact screen
Correct a trapezoid with keystone
If the image is wider at one end because the projector is tilted, use horizontal or vertical keystone correction to square it up. For a ceiling or pole mount, SkyTrak’s guide describes correcting an image that is wider at the top with vertical keystone. The guide mentions +11 as a common setting in its documented setup; treat it as an example, not a required value for your projector or room.
Adjust individual corners and save the result
For remaining skew, open Display > Geometric Correction > Four Corners and adjust the corners individually. Preview the adjustment, then press Enter a second time to commit it. SkyTrak warns that if you do not confirm the preview, the menu can time out and revert the change.

If the image is slightly misplaced vertically on a pole mount, image shift or a small physical tilt may help. For a picture that does not fill the screen, SkyTrak’s guide recommends moving the projector farther from the impact screen to increase coverage. Check that the new position still works with your room’s clearance and mounting arrangement; a ceiling mount, protective floor case, or stand may accommodate different placements.

- No picture: Check that the projector’s lens cap is off, particularly for a ceiling-mounted unit. If you use the relevant floor enclosure, check for protective film on its transparent front plate.
- Aspect-ratio or display options are greyed out: Connect the PC or iPad video source and confirm its interface appears through the projector before changing those settings.
- The picture looks worse after geometry adjustments: If you changed geometric correction before setting the aspect ratio, SkyTrak says you may need to use Reset at the bottom of the Display menu, then configure the format and alignment again.
- iPad or Mac has no HDMI port: Use an HDMI multiport adapter compatible with the device, or follow the FAQ’s wireless-casting approach with SkyTrak in Network Mode.
