To connect a second DualSense controller wirelessly, use the already-paired controller to open Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories. On the second controller, hold Create and PS together until its light bar blinks, then select it on the PS5.
Pair a second PS5 controller wirelessly

Turn on the PS5 and make sure the first controller is paired and working.

Check the second controller’s player indicator. It should be off. If it is lit, hold the PS button until it turns off.

Disconnect any USB cable from the second controller.

Check that the second controller’s player indicator lights up to confirm pairing.

When to use a USB cable instead
Sony also documents USB pairing for initial controller setup: turn on the PS5, connect the controller to the console with a USB cable, and press the PS button. Once the controller has enough battery charge, Sony says you can disconnect the cable and use it wirelessly. For adding a second controller after the first is paired, Sony’s dedicated instructions use the wireless Bluetooth Accessories method above.
How many controllers can connect to a PS5?
Sony says, “You can use up to 4 controllers at the same time.” Pressing the PS button assigns a player color.

If the second controller does not appear
Sony’s instructions specify that the second controller’s player indicator should be off and that it should not be connected by USB before wireless pairing. If it still does not appear in the Bluetooth Accessories list, the cited instructions do not provide a specific recovery procedure; avoid assuming that a particular reset or restart will resolve it.
