Install LSPDFR manually
Before extracting anything, locate the GTA V installation directory—the folder that contains GTA5.exe. Both downloads need to be extracted there, not into a separate LSPDFR folder or the game’s general documents folder.
- Download LSPDFR from the official LCPDFR download page and download the latest RAGE Plugin Hook from the link provided in the official installation guide.
- Extract the LSPDFR archive into the GTA V folder containing
GTA5.exe. - Extract the RAGE Plugin Hook files into that same folder after LSPDFR. If prompted to overwrite files, follow the installation guide’s instructions and allow the specified overwrite.
Check the files and launch the mod
After extraction, check that the GTA V folder contains these items:
#1 Best Overall
- STUNNING VISUALS — Enhanced levels of fidelity and performance with new graphics modes featuring up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, HDR options, ray tracing, improved texture quality, and more
- FASTER LOADING — Quicker access to the action as the world of Los Santos and Blaine County load in faster than ever before.
- ADAPTIVE TRIGGERS AND HAPTIC FEEDBACK — Feel every moment through the DualSense controller, from directional damage to weather effects, rough road surfaces to explosions, and more.
- TEMPEST 3D AUDIO — Hear the sounds of the world with pinpoint precision: the throttle of a stolen supercar, the rattle of neighbouring gunfire, the roar of a helicopter overhead, and more.
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the European version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions.
- An
LSPDFRfolder. Plugins/LSPD First Response.dll.RAGEPluginHook.exe.
Start LSPDFR by running RAGEPluginHook.exe from the GTA V folder. The installation guide’s quick indication that LSPDFR is running is the appearance of marked police stations on the map.
Check compatibility after GTA V updates
LSPDFR compatibility depends on the installed GTA V build, so an update to the game can affect whether the mod starts. LCPDFR’s compatibility log records a July 19, 2026 entry for LSPDFR 0.4.9 Build 9695 and GTA build 3889; that entry says BattlEye must be disabled to play. These identifiers and the BattlEye note apply to that dated entry, not necessarily to later game builds. Check LCPDFR’s compatibility log for your installed edition and build before installing or troubleshooting after an update.
