The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G has the stronger listed display, rear-camera features, battery capacity and charging rate, while the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G costs less in Xiaomi India’s store snapshot. On October 7, 2026, the listed 6 GB/128 GB SE was ₹25,999 and the 8 GB/128 GB Pro was ₹36,999—a calculated difference of ₹11,000. Because the RAM configurations differ and store prices can change, this is not a like-for-like price comparison.
India price difference: ₹11,000 in the observed listings
Xiaomi India listed the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage for ₹25,999, and the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage for ₹36,999. The ₹11,000 gap is calculated from those displayed prices, which were accessed on October 7, 2026; it is not a published Xiaomi statistic or a guaranteed current price. Check Xiaomi India’s store for the price and offers available when you buy.
The storage capacity is the same in these listings, but RAM differs, so the figures do not establish what either phone costs at an equivalent memory configuration. They apply to an India store snapshot, not prices or availability in other countries.

Where the Note 17 Pro has the advantage on paper
Display
The Pro’s screen is slightly larger and Xiaomi lists its resolution as 1.5K. It is flat, whereas the SE has a curved display. Both listings specify a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, so the meaningful choice is screen size, resolution and shape—not a higher listed refresh rate for the Pro.
Battery and charging
Xiaomi lists a 9,000 mAh typical silicon-carbon battery and 67 W wired charging for the Pro, compared with 5,800 mAh and 45 W for the SE. The Pro also has the higher listed wired reverse-charging rate: 22.5 W versus 18 W. Capacity and charging ratings alone do not show real battery life or charging time; those depend on use and test conditions.

Rear-camera coverage
The Pro’s listed rear setup adds an 8 MP ultrawide camera and optical image stabilization (OIS) on its 50 MP main camera. The SE page describes a 50 MP main camera and an AI dual-camera system. These specifications show a difference in stabilization and lens coverage, but megapixel counts and feature lists do not determine which phone takes better photos.

Lower observed price
The SE’s India store listing is ₹11,000 lower in the configurations observed. That makes it the lower-cost option in this snapshot, but the price gap is between a 6 GB RAM model and an 8 GB RAM model. Check the live store price and the exact configuration before deciding.

Curved display and front-camera resolution
If you prefer a curved screen, the SE is the one Xiaomi lists with that design. Its front camera is listed at 20 MP, compared with 16 MP for the Pro. A higher resolution does not, by itself, prove better selfie quality.
Published support commitment
Xiaomi states that the SE will receive four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. The reviewed Pro specification page lists Android 16 but does not state a comparable support duration. That leaves the support-period comparison incomplete; it does not establish that the Pro will receive less support.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Note 17 Pro on specifications if you value its listed 1.5K flat display, larger battery, faster wired charging, OIS on the main rear camera and ultrawide lens enough to pay more.
- Consider the Note 15 SE if the lower observed India listing price, curved display or 20 MP front-camera specification better matches your priorities.
- Do not choose by chipset name alone. Xiaomi lists Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 for the SE and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 for the Pro, but those names do not establish a real-world performance winner. No verified independent side-by-side benchmark, camera test or battery test is available here.
Before buying, compare the live price for the exact RAM and storage configuration you want, confirm the regional specifications and warranty, and look for independent tests if speed, photo quality or battery endurance is decisive for you.
