Download an individual beatmap from the official osu! beatmap listing as an .osz file, then open it to import it. For multiple maps, download an official beatmap pack, extract its archive, and import the included .osz files. If a map does not appear in Song Selection, press F5 to reprocess beatmaps.
Download an individual osu! beatmap from the website
- Open the official osu! beatmap listing and sign in.
- Search for a song or map. Search text can match the song artist or title, difficulty creator or name, source, mapper tags, and user tags. For more targeted searches, the official search guide describes comparison operators and notes that filter support differs between osu!web, osu!(stable), and osu!(lazer).
- Choose the map you want and click its download control. The downloaded file uses the
.oszextension. - Open the
.oszfile to import the beatmap. Alternatively, move it into theSongsdirectory under your osu! installation.
A beatmap is the playable map associated with a song; downloading a song file alone is not the same as downloading a beatmap.
Choose between website downloads and osu!direct

To use osu!direct, open it from the game, find a song, and download the map from the list. Choose DL NoVideo if you want to skip the video. Maps downloaded through osu!direct should load automatically. The supporter requirement applies to osu!direct, not to the separate website-download route. Download and import osu! beatmap packs
For multiple maps, use the official beatmap-pack listing. Its categories serve different interests and modes:

- Standard: Ranked and Approved beatmaps.
- Featured Artist: packs associated with featured artists.
- Tournament: maps associated with tournaments.
- Project Loved: maps in the Project Loved category.
- Spotlights: spotlight maps.
- Theme: maps grouped around a theme.
- Artist/Album: maps grouped by artist or album.
Choose a category that matches the game mode, artist, event, or theme you want. Packs are compressed archives, and their contents can include videos as well as beatmap files. The official wiki describes packs as averaging roughly 100 MB, but that is a general estimate, not a fixed download size. The listing is actively updated; it showed entries dated October 6, 2026, when checked October 7, 2026, so a static pack count would quickly become outdated.
- Download a pack from the official listing.
- Extract the archive.
- Move its
.oszfiles into theSongsdirectory, or drag them into a running osu! instance. - If the maps do not appear, go to Song Selection and press F5 to reprocess beatmaps.

Why a downloaded beatmap may not show up
Opening an .osz file or placing it in Songs should trigger import. If the map is still missing from Song Selection, press F5 there to reprocess beatmaps. For a pack, confirm that you extracted the archive and imported its .osz contents rather than leaving the compressed archive untouched.

Use the official beatmap listing and pack page when possible. The osu! wiki warns: “osu! cannot guarantee that files from unofficial sources are safe, up to date, or complete.”
