If your Logitech G920 brake is hard to use because the game responds poorly, adjust brake sensitivity in Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) first. That changes how pedal travel maps to game input, not how much force the pedal physically takes. Logitech documents no software setting that softens the pedal’s mechanical resistance. A creator video shows an unofficial rubber-block removal modification, but it is invasive and Logitech does not document or endorse it.
First identify what feels stiff
There are two different problems that can feel similar while driving:
- The pedal physically takes too much force: changing software sensitivity will not soften its spring or resistance.
- The game does not respond as expected: sensitivity, pedal mapping, connections, or game settings may be involved.
Start with the software and connection checks before considering any hardware modification.

Logitech says G920 pedal sensitivity can be adjusted for pedal engagement preferences or to improve brake response in some games. The documented default slider value is 50%, and settings can be configured per game profile. This changes the input response, not the pedal’s physical resistance. Logitech’s sensitivity instructions are for LGS; check product compatibility before installing software, and do not treat the page’s reference to version 8.70 or later as proof that a particular older release is currently recommended.

- Connect the G920 to a PC and open Logitech Gaming Software.
- Select the G920, then open the Pedals screen.
- Double-click Brake.
- Adjust the sensitivity slider, then confirm the change. If the problem occurs in only one game, use the relevant game profile.
Test the response in the game after changing the setting. If the pedal still does not register correctly, check the game’s control assignment rather than assuming the pedal mechanism needs to be opened.
Check connections and in-game mapping
If braking is missing, inconsistent, or seems to activate the wrong control, follow Logitech’s basic checks: confirm wheel power, the pedal connection to the wheel, and the USB connection, then verify the brake assignment in the game. Logitech identifies the pedal connector as a DB-9 female connection under the wheel unit. Some games may invert pedal controls, so make sure the brake is mapped to the intended action. Move the pedal face only for foot position
Logitech supports adjusting pedal-face position left or right with a 2.5 mm hex key for comfort or heel-toe maneuvers. This changes where your foot meets the pedal, not how much force it takes to press. It is a positioning adjustment, not a way to disassemble or soften the brake mechanism. What rubber-block removal involves—and what is not established
A creator video published on March 22, 2025, demonstrates removing the black rubber block inside the brake assembly by taking off the pedal plate and rear cover: “Logitech G29/G920 Stiff Brake Pedal Fix”. This is an unofficial, invasive modification, not a procedure in Logitech’s support guidance. The video does not establish that the change is safe, durable, warranty-neutral, or consistent for every G920, so do not treat it as a guaranteed fix or official service instruction.

If you are considering opening the pedal unit, understand that you would be modifying hardware rather than changing an LGS setting. Logitech’s support pages consulted do not document this procedure, and they do not establish what effect it would have on warranty coverage. The evidence here also does not establish the resulting pedal force or feel.

Before opening the unit, check whether the issue persists in another game or on another PC, and revisit calibration, LGS sensitivity, and the game’s control settings. These are troubleshooting suggestions in a student-contributed iFixit guide, not a Logitech-approved calibration sequence. Logitech’s support pages consulted report no spare parts listed for the product; that does not establish availability in every region or from third parties.
