To download a Friday Night Funkin’ (FNF) mod, choose one that matches your game version, device, and engine, then follow its page’s installation instructions. For the current official game, extract the mod ZIP and put its folder in the game’s mods folder; the location differs on Android and iOS.
Choose a mod that fits your game
Browse the Friday Night Funkin’ community listing on GameBanana and open the individual mod page. Check its requirements before downloading: a mod may specify a game version, operating system, engine, or a separate launcher. The listing may also explain whether the download is a ZIP folder or a standalone executable.

- Confirm the mod supports your device and the version of FNF you have.
- Look for its required engine, such as V-Slice or Psych Engine, and use that engine’s instructions if specified.
- Read the page’s installation notes and inspect the files provided. Don’t run an unexpected executable unless you trust its source and the page’s instructions.
Mods do not all use the same installation method. A community tutorial describes an older desktop arrangement involving a separate vanilla game copy; treat it as a legacy example rather than a general method. Some mods use engine-specific builds, such as Psych Engine Continued, or a launcher such as V-Slice Mod Launcher. Follow the instructions for the particular mod and engine instead of assuming the current game’s folder method applies.

The Funkin’ Crew’s official mod-installation guide says to “Extract the mod you downloaded from its ZIP file, and place the mod folder into the game’s mods folder.” Use the platform-specific location below, then restart the game so it can detect the mod.
Windows, macOS, and other desktop platforms
- Download the mod ZIP from its listing.
- Extract the ZIP so you have the mod folder, rather than leaving the ZIP compressed.
- Move that folder into the current game’s
modsfolder. - Restart FNF and check whether the mod appears.
Android
- Start the game once.
- Locate
/sdcard/Android/obb/me.funkin.fnf/mods. - Extract the mod ZIP into that
modsfolder. - Restart the game.
iOS
- Open
On My iPhone→Friday Night Funkin→modsin the Files app. - Extract or move the mod folder into
mods. - Restart the game.
Folder locations and steps can change between builds. Check the official guide for the instructions that match your platform and game version.

If the mod does not appear
- Make sure you extracted the ZIP and placed the mod folder—not just the ZIP—in the correct
modsdirectory. - Restart the game after adding the folder.
- Recheck the mod page for a required engine, launcher, platform, or game version. If it calls for a different setup, use its instructions rather than the current game’s folder steps.
- If the page provides a standalone executable, do not treat it as a folder mod; only run it if you trust the source and its instructions.
