For the shared-hosting plans covered here, Namecheap has the lower documented annual renewal prices, while Porkbun offers clearly tiered cPanel plans for customers who want to host multiple sites. That does not make either provider the universal winner: first choose the hosting type you need, then compare renewal cost, site limits, storage, and included tools. The figures below are provider-published prices and plan details for 2026; they are not independent performance results.

What are you comparing: shared hosting, WordPress, or a server?

“Porkbun vs Namecheap hosting” is only a fair comparison when the products are in the same category. Porkbun sells cPanel hosting alongside Cloud for WordPress, static hosting, Easy PHP, Link In Bio, and Articulation products. Namecheap offers shared hosting, managed WordPress hosting, VPS, and dedicated servers. A shared cPanel plan is not a like-for-like alternative to a VPS or managed WordPress plan.

For beginners and smaller sites, start with shared hosting if you want a conventional hosting account and do not need server-level control. If the site is specifically built on WordPress, compare the providers’ WordPress-focused products separately. Consider VPS or dedicated hosting only when you need the additional control or resources those categories are designed to provide. Namecheap describes shared hosting as suited to beginners and small websites, managed WordPress as WordPress-focused, VPS as suited to growing applications and e-commerce needing more control, and dedicated servers as intended for high-traffic or enterprise projects (Namecheap hosting overview).

How do the shared cPanel plans and prices compare?

The clearest comparison is between Porkbun’s annual cPanel tiers and Namecheap’s shared plans. The prices are not identical measures: Porkbun’s listed cPanel prices are annual plan prices, while Namecheap’s figures below are its published annual renewal prices for invoices issued on or after May 19, 2026. Check the checkout total and billing term for your own purchase, especially if an introductory offer or domain bundle is involved.

Provider and plan Sites or hosted domains Storage Annual price
Porkbun cPanel, 1-site tier 1 site 25 GB $90
Porkbun cPanel, 10-site tier 10 sites 50 GB $120
Porkbun cPanel, 25-site tier 25 sites 75 GB $170
Porkbun cPanel, 50-site tier 50 sites 100 GB $240
Namecheap Stellar Plan comparison lists hosted-domain allowances by tier 20 GB SSD $55.88 annual renewal
Namecheap Stellar Plus Higher tier allows unlimited hosted domain names Unmetered SSD $85.44 annual renewal
Namecheap Stellar Business Higher tier allows unlimited hosted domain names 50 GB SSD $128.88 annual renewal

Porkbun’s cPanel details list the annual tiers and included features (Porkbun cPanel hosting). Namecheap’s shared-hosting page lists its plan features and the renewal notice; the new renewal rates apply to invoices issued on or after May 19, 2026 (Namecheap shared hosting). Namecheap also publishes two-year renewal totals: $102.88 for Stellar, $146.44 for Stellar Plus, and $251.88 for Stellar Business.

Which is cheaper after renewal?

Among these specific plans, Namecheap’s listed annual renewal is lower than Porkbun’s $90 entry cPanel tier for Stellar and Stellar Plus, but higher for Stellar Business. That comparison does not account for differences in site allowances, storage, features, or a domain purchased separately. It also says nothing about first-term promotional pricing: Namecheap’s overview advertises a starting offer of $1.88 per month billed every two years, which is not the same as the annual renewal amounts. Porkbun’s overview advertises several different “from” prices for distinct product types and promotions, so those starting figures should not be treated as equivalent shared-hosting rates (Porkbun hosting overview; Namecheap hosting overview).

What do the plans include?

Porkbun cPanel tools

Porkbun lists unmetered bandwidth, SSD storage, FTP, PHP, MySQL, a free SSL certificate, and Softaculous Auto Installer with paid cPanel plans. Its cPanel product is positioned for people who want a graphical interface and for customers seeking multisite hosting options (Porkbun cPanel hosting details).

Namecheap shared-hosting tools

Namecheap lists cPanel, free SSL, and one-click CMS installation among its hosting features. Confirm that the specific feature you need is included with the exact plan you are considering, rather than assuming that every feature applies identically across all plans (Namecheap shared hosting; Namecheap hosting overview).

Unmetered or unlimited does not mean unrestricted

Porkbun describes bandwidth as unmetered but says its shared environment must be used reasonably; storage and bandwidth are intended for website files, not archives or unrelated storage. Namecheap likewise subjects unmetered storage to its acceptable-use policy. Treat these labels as subject to each provider’s terms, not as permission to use a hosting account as general-purpose file storage (Porkbun hosting overview; Namecheap shared hosting).

Which host fits your situation?

Choose Namecheap shared hosting when renewal cost is the priority

Namecheap’s published annual renewal price for Stellar and Stellar Plus is below Porkbun’s least expensive listed cPanel annual tier. This makes those Namecheap plans worth checking if your site fits their storage and plan limits. Stellar Business costs more than Porkbun’s $90 and $120 tiers, so compare its 50 GB storage and other included features against the Porkbun tier that fits your site count.

Choose Porkbun cPanel when its site tiers suit your workload

Porkbun lays out cPanel options from one site and 25 GB through 50 sites and 100 GB, with corresponding annual prices. The tier structure makes it easier to identify a plan by site count and storage needs. Select based on the number of sites you actually expect to run and the space they require, rather than paying for the largest allowance by default.

Choose by product type for WordPress or higher-resource needs

If you want managed WordPress hosting, compare that product category rather than assuming Porkbun cPanel and Namecheap shared hosting are equivalent to managed plans. Namecheap’s catalogue also includes VPS and dedicated products, while Porkbun lists specialized hosting products beyond cPanel. The cited plan prices do not establish which of those non-shared products is the better value.

Can you move a website to Namecheap?

Namecheap says new hosting customers can ask its team to handle migration or follow its migration guide (Namecheap hosting overview). Treat this as a documented Namecheap option, not proof that migration is included on every plan or that the same terms are available from Porkbun. Before switching, confirm what content, databases, email, and domain settings are covered and whether your current site needs any manual steps.

Does the evidence show which host is faster or more reliable?

No like-for-like independent uptime, speed, or support-response measurements are established by the provider plan information cited here. Plan descriptions and vendor claims should not be treated as measured performance. If speed or reliability is the deciding factor, seek current independent tests that compare equivalent plans under the same conditions; do not infer a winner from price or feature lists alone.
