To turn down bass on a Bose soundbar, first identify its model: the Bose TV Speaker uses its remote, the Soundbar System Bundle uses the Bose Music app, and the SoundTouch 300 has its own app or remote controls. There is no single documented button sequence for every model. Check the product label or the Bose app before following a model-specific route.
Find your Bose soundbar model first
Look at the product label or select the soundbar in the Bose app. The controls and menu names differ by model, so avoid trying another model’s button sequence if yours does not match.
Turn down bass on the Bose Soundbar System Bundle
- Open the Bose Music app and select your soundbar from the My Bose screen.
- Tap the soundbar image in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Tap Adjustments and lower the bass setting.
These steps are from the Bose Soundbar System Bundle owner’s guide. The guide documents this route for the System Bundle; menu labels may differ on other models.
Turn down bass on the Bose TV Speaker
- On the remote, press Bass.
- Press − to decrease the bass.
- Press Bass again to save.
Bose says the Bluetooth light blinks white three times during the adjustment and save feedback. See Bose’s TV Speaker tone-control instructions if you need to confirm the remote procedure.

Adjust bass on the SoundTouch 300
The SoundTouch 300 owner’s guide documents bass adjustment through the SoundTouch app or the remote. Its settings run from −4 to +4, with 0 as the default. Select a lower value, then use the save control shown in the guide. The remote-button icons are not clearly rendered in the guide text, so consult its figure rather than guessing which button to press.

If you use the Bose app but cannot find a bass control
Bose lists many soundbar products as compatible with its app, including the Smart Soundbar, Smart Soundbar 300, 600, 700 and 900, Smart Ultra Soundbar, and Soundbar 500. That compatibility does not establish that every model has the same bass control or menu path. Check the instructions for your exact model; Bose’s app page lists compatible products.

If the bass comes from a Bass Module 500
A separate bass module has its own placement, apart from the soundbar’s electronic bass setting. Bose says to pull the Bass Module 500 away from walls and corners for less bass. Its product page lists compatible systems, including the Smart Ultra Soundbar, Smart Soundbar 600, 900, 300, 700, Soundbar 500, SoundTouch 300, and the TV Speaker with a wired connection.

If you do not have a working remote
Use the app if your model supports the needed adjustment there. Bose’s Smart Soundbar 900 support page lists a soundbar replacement remote, but that listing does not establish compatibility with every Bose model. Verify the exact model before buying a replacement remote for your Bose soundbar.
