If your Daikin air purifier will not start, has weak airflow, smells unusual, makes abnormal noise, or shows a warning lamp, begin with the checks for that symptom below. These are safe, external checks—not a substitute for service. Instructions and indicator meanings vary by model and market, so confirm the model number and consult its manual before cleaning, resetting a lamp, or ordering a part.
1. The purifier will not start
Check that the front panel is properly attached. On some Daikin units, a panel that is not seated correctly can keep the appliance from operating. If the front-panel indicator is off, Daikin says the panel may not be in position; inspect the panel’s rear safety-switch protrusion for visible damage, but do not open the appliance or attempt an electrical repair. Daikin Global’s air-purifier troubleshooting guidance covers these checks.
If the purifier starts and stops when you move its power cord, stop using it and contact the place of purchase or a Daikin representative. Do not keep testing a unit with intermittent power.

Check for obstructions and missing parts
Make sure the air inlet and outlet are clear. Some models also stop the fan when a required component is missing or incorrectly fitted. Depending on the unit, that may include the prefilter, discharge grille, dust-collection filter, or—on a humidifying model—the humidifying filter, water tray, or tank. Unplug the purifier before reinstalling parts, and follow the instructions for your model.

Daikin’s general troubleshooting guidance recommends contacting the place of purchase if the inlet and outlet are clear but the unit still does not discharge air, since a defective fan motor may be the cause. For selected error indications, Daikin Japan’s FAQ also advises cleaning the prefilter, clearing an obstructed outlet, and reseating the parts identified for the affected model; arrange inspection if the issue remains.
Use model-specific instructions
The MCK70ZBFH/MCK70ZBFW manual applies to those UK-market humidifying purifier models, not to every Daikin unit. Check your own model’s manual before following a model-specific error procedure.

3. There is an odor at the outlet
On humidifying models, check whether the deodorizing filter, humidifying filter, and humidifying tray need cleaning. Daikin also advises discarding the water in the tray when refilling the tank. If you are not using humidification, empty both the tank and tray. These steps apply only to models with the relevant humidifying components; use the model manual for cleaning directions.

An odor sensor may not detect every odor, so a sensor reading is not proof that the outlet air is odor-free. See Daikin’s troubleshooting guidance for its odor checks.

4. The purifier makes abnormal noise or vibrates
Stop using the purifier if it produces abnormal sound or vibration, and contact the place of purchase or a Daikin representative. Daikin gives this direction for abnormal noise or vibration rather than advising owners to continue operating the unit while investigating.
If the issue is a loud operating sound without abnormal vibration, check whether the dust-collection filter is installed correctly. On applicable humidifying models, bubbling can occur as water feeds into the tray, and clicking can occur when the humidifying-filter motor switches on or off. Those sounds do not make persistent abnormal vibration safe to ignore. Refer to Daikin Global’s troubleshooting page and your model manual.

5. A warning lamp is on or blinking
A lamp’s meaning and reset procedure depend on the model and market. Read the indicator section of the exact model manual before replacing a filter or trying a reset; similar-looking lamps do not necessarily signal the same issue.
MCB50: odor-sensor and filter-replacement lamps
The MCB50 owner manual says a blinking odor-sensor lamp is associated with a carbon filter unit that has been removed or not fully inserted; airflow decreases while the lamp blinks. The manual also identifies a filter-replacement lamp as an indication that the dust-collection filter needs replacement soon and directs owners to the place of purchase. Confirm the full model suffix and local part compatibility before sourcing a replacement.

Japan-market guidance: filter lamp reset
For the models covered by its Japan-market FAQ, Daikin says to replace the air-cleaning pleated filter and hold the filter-reset button for about five seconds. If the filter is replaced but the reset is not performed, the lamp may remain lit. This is not a universal Daikin reset procedure; follow the instructions for your model and region. When to contact Daikin or the place of purchase
Arrange service if the basic checks in your model’s manual do not resolve the problem. Contact the place of purchase or a Daikin representative promptly if power is intermittent, the fan still will not discharge air after the inlet, outlet, and required parts are checked, or the purifier produces abnormal sound or vibration. Avoid opening the appliance or attempting internal electrical or motor repairs.
