To cancel a subscription on a Samsung phone, use the store or billing channel where you bought it: cancel Google Play subscriptions in Google Play, and Galaxy Store subscriptions in Galaxy Store. The app’s location on your phone does not determine who bills you. Uninstalling an app does not cancel its subscription.
First, identify where the subscription was purchased
Check the receipt or the merchant name on your payment statement if you are unsure. A subscription bought through Google Play is managed by the Google account used for that purchase. A Galaxy Store subscription is managed through Galaxy Store after signing in. If neither store lists it, the subscription may be billed directly by the app publisher, a carrier, or another provider; these instructions do not cover those providers’ cancellation steps.

Cancel a Google Play subscription
- Open Google Play on your Samsung phone. Check that the selected Google account is the one used to subscribe; switch accounts if needed.
- Open the account’s Subscriptions page.
- Select the subscription, tap Cancel subscription, and follow the confirmation prompts.
- Keep the confirmation and check the renewal or access end date shown for the subscription.
Google states, “When you uninstall the app, your subscription won’t be cancelled.” Uninstalling the app is not a substitute for canceling the subscription. Google Play: Cancel, pause, or change a subscription.

Cancel a Galaxy Store subscription
- Sign in to Galaxy Store.
- Tap Menu, then Subscriptions.
- Select the relevant app and tap Cancel subscription. Some regional Samsung instructions call the action Unsubscribe.
- Confirm the cancellation and note when the service period ends.
Samsung says you can continue using the service until the paid period ends. The menu route and labels can vary by region or interface version. Samsung Galaxy Store subscription support.

What cancellation does—and what it does not do
For an ordinary recurring subscription, canceling stops the next renewal; it generally does not end access immediately or refund the time already paid. Google Play subscriptions renew at the start of a billing cycle unless canceled. Google Play cancellation guidance and Google Play subscription billing guidance explain the applicable terms.
Payment plans are different: Google says you may stop a plan from auto-renewing but remain responsible for payments still due under the current plan. Canceling renewal does not necessarily erase an installment commitment.

Depending on the subscription and developer, Google Play may offer options such as pausing or changing a plan. A pause generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Prepaid subscriptions are limited-term and generally expire automatically. Available choices vary. Google Play subscription options.

If you cannot find the subscription or a charge continues
- Missing from Google Play: Check other Google accounts on the phone; the purchase may be tied to a different account. If it remains missing, check the original receipt or payment statement to identify the merchant and billing channel.
- Missing from Galaxy Store: Confirm that you are signed in to the Galaxy Store account associated with the purchase. If it still does not appear, use the receipt or statement to identify who billed you.
- Charged after canceling: Compare the charge date and merchant name with your cancellation confirmation and the service period end date. A charge during an already-paid period does not by itself show that cancellation failed. For Google Play payment plans, check whether installments remain due.
- Menu or label differs: Galaxy Store instructions and billing arrangements can vary by territory, app version, and seller. Consult the current store screen and Samsung’s support guidance for your region. Samsung’s regional instructions.
