In the available phone tests, Dimensity 9500 devices scored higher than a Tensor G5 phone in Geekbench 6 CPU tests and 3DMark Wild Life Extreme graphics. That makes Dimensity 9500 the stronger performer in those specific results—not a guaranteed winner in every phone or workload. Tensor G5’s clearest distinction is its role in Pixel 10’s on-device AI and software features. The right choice depends on the complete phone and what you use it for.
Dimensity 9500 vs Tensor G5 at a glance
| Area | MediaTek Dimensity 9500 | Google Tensor G5 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Eight Arm cores: 1 C1-Ultra, 3 C1-Premium, and 4 C1-Pro. MediaTek lists 2 MB, 1 MB, and 512 KB of L2 cache for those core groups, plus 16 MB L3 cache and 10 MB system-level cache. What the phone benchmarks show
Android Central published results from tests of retail phones on December 5, 2025. Its tested Dimensity 9500 phone scored higher than its tested Tensor G5 phone in the listed Geekbench 6 and 3DMark Wild Life Extreme results.
| Test | Tested Dimensity 9500 phone | Tested Tensor G5 phone |
|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 3,391 | 2,288 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 10,085 | 6,030 |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme | 6,546 | 3,182 |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme frame rate | 39.2 FPS | 19.05 FPS |
These are results for the specific phones Android Central tested, not a controlled test that isolates the chips while holding every other device variable constant. Cooling, firmware, power mode, and workload can affect results, so the scores do not establish how every Dimensity 9500 phone compares with every Tensor G5 phone. Android Central reported that its Tensor G5 phone did not finish its 3DMark Solar Bay run (listed as “DNF”); the tested Dimensity 9500 devices completed it. Read Android Central’s review and test context.
NanoReview also aggregates AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 results, but the sample counts differ between the two chips. Treat those pooled results as supplemental community aggregates rather than a controlled head-to-head comparison. See NanoReview’s comparison.
#1 Best Overall
- 2-way speakerphone with 4-level volume control and big-dial keypad
- Handset volume control; Receiver has volume gain +40dB; Hearing Aid compatible
- Switch for 10 one-touch keys allows picture dialing only (great feature for people that can not dial numbers)
- Bright red LED lights for incoming calls; in-use green LED Light
- Red 911 Emergency Key - this number is backed up even if the unit is unplugged
How the chips differ beyond benchmark scores
Dimensity 9500: published platform specifications
MediaTek provides detailed CPU, cache, memory, storage, GPU, and media-support specifications for Dimensity 9500. Those details describe what the platform can support; the phone maker determines how a particular device implements the platform, including its cooling, camera hardware, and software.
Tensor G5: Pixel features and Google’s comparisons
Google presents Tensor G5 in connection with Pixel 10 features, including on-device Gemini Nano and Pixel-specific AI and imaging capabilities. Google also claimed a TPU “up to 60% more powerful” than Tensor G4 and an average CPU that was “34% faster” than Tensor G4. The CPU figure refers to Google’s internal testing on pre-production devices and an average across Pixel 10 phones. These are Google’s comparisons with Tensor G4, not direct Dimensity 9500 comparisons. Google’s announcement explains its claims and Pixel features.

Which one should you choose?
Choose by the phone and task, not by the chipset name alone. The cited independent tests favor Dimensity 9500 for the measured CPU and graphics workloads; Tensor G5 is closely tied to Pixel 10’s Google AI and software experience. Before deciding, check the specific phones you can actually buy.
- For peak CPU and graphics scores: the tested Dimensity 9500 phone led in the cited Geekbench 6 and 3DMark Wild Life Extreme runs.
- For Pixel-specific AI features: look at the Pixel 10 model’s feature set and confirm that the particular feature you want is available on that model.
- For sustained gaming or heavy workloads: compare device-level thermal and sustained-performance evidence. A short benchmark score alone does not show how a phone behaves over a longer session.
- For photos and video: compare the phone’s camera hardware and implementation. Chip-level camera support does not mean every phone uses the maximum listed capability.
- For day-to-day value: compare the complete phones’ price, software support, battery life, and features in your region. The benchmark results do not answer those questions.
Why a benchmark result is not a universal chip ranking
A phone benchmark captures one device running one test under particular conditions. The tested phone’s cooling, firmware, and power settings contribute to the result alongside the chipset. The published results are useful evidence for those workloads, but they cannot establish a categorical winner across all games, apps, battery use, or phone designs.

For a real purchase, verify the chipset in the exact phone variant, then compare device-specific reviews for sustained performance, thermals, battery life, camera quality, software features, and support. Chipsets are integrated into phones; this is a comparison of complete-device options, not a normal standalone upgrade.
