The OPPO Find X8 Pro is a large, capable Android flagship that stands out for its four-camera rear system, including 3x and 6x telephoto lenses, and its high-capacity battery. Its 6.78-inch display and 215g body will suit people who want a roomy screen and broad camera coverage better than anyone looking for a compact phone. The main drawbacks are its size, image processing that may not match every taste, and launch-era software support that was shorter than Google’s and Samsung’s then-current commitments.
OPPO Find X8 Pro verdict: who should buy it?
Consider the Find X8 Pro if you want a premium Android phone with multiple useful camera focal lengths, a large high-refresh display, flagship-class processing and fast wired and wireless charging. Its strongest case is versatility: rather than relying on one main camera and digital crop, it offers separate ultra-wide, main, 3x telephoto and 6x telephoto cameras.
It is a less convincing fit if you prioritize one-handed use, a compact body, or the longest available software-support commitment. Its camera hardware is impressive on paper, but the finished images have their own contrast and color character; more lenses do not guarantee that every shot will look the same or that long zoom will hold up in low light.

How good are the four rear cameras?
OPPO India lists four 50MP rear cameras: a 120-degree ultra-wide, a main camera with two-axis optical image stabilization, a 3x telephoto and a 6x ultra-telephoto. The telephoto cameras also have two-axis stabilization. A 32MP front camera is listed. This arrangement gives you more options for framing distant subjects than a phone with only a main camera and a single telephoto lens.

Optical reach is not the same as extreme zoom
Tom’s Guide describes the system as offering 3x and 6x optical zoom and a maximum 120x magnification mode. OPPO’s India specification page lists optical zoom up to 6x and digital zoom up to 18x in its video section. These figures describe different modes: the 3x and 6x cameras provide the useful optical focal-length choices, while high-magnification modes rely on processing and should not be treated as equivalent in detail or image quality. In particular, a long-reach camera does not guarantee clean results in low light.
Image character depends on what you like
In scene-specific comparisons, Tom’s Guide’s reviewer found OPPO’s images more dramatic than the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s, with darker shadows and brighter highlights. In one 3x comparison with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the reviewer preferred the Pixel’s color; at 5x/6x, the OPPO captured slightly more detail in buildings. Those are the reviewer’s observations from particular scenes, not a universal camera ranking or a laboratory test. If you are choosing between flagships, compare the actual color, HDR and zoom results you prefer rather than relying on megapixel counts alone.
OPPO advertises 4K 60fps Dolby Vision capture across cameras on its global page; the India specification page separately lists rear and front 4K video at 30 or 60fps. OPPO notes that AI photo and transfer features can vary with software version and region, so check whether a particular feature is available on the local model and current software.

Is the screen and design comfortable to use?
For the India listing, OPPO specifies a 6.78-inch flexible AMOLED panel with 2780 × 1264 resolution, a maximum 120Hz refresh rate and a listed typical peak brightness of 4500 nits. Tech Advisor praised its color and outdoor readability, describing the edges as micro-curved around an almost-flat screen. Tom’s Guide’s reviewer also found it bright in subjective comparisons, while noting that the publication had not tested it in its lab. The 4500-nit figure is the manufacturer’s stated typical peak, not a claim that the screen sustains that brightness across all content or conditions.
The same India model is listed at about 215g and 16.23cm tall. That size makes room for the screen and camera hardware, but it is a meaningful handling trade-off. Tech Advisor reviewer Luke Baker wrote that it was “more comfortable in the hand than flatter iPhone-like designs, but still feels modern and fresh.” That is a subjective design impression, not a guarantee that the phone will feel comfortable for every hand.
Buttons and water resistance
The Quick Button is a camera control that can act as a shortcut, shutter and zoom control. Tech Advisor’s reviewer found its uses limited to zoom and not customizable at review time; Tom’s Guide also described swipe zoom and burst capture, while judging its functions more limited than Apple’s Camera Control. The phone also has a three-position alert slider.

OPPO claims IP68 and IP69 protection under controlled laboratory conditions. Its global page defines IP68 testing as still-water submersion at 1.5m for 30 minutes under specified conditions, and IP69 testing as hot-water jets at 80 ± 5°C and 15 ± 1 L/min for two minutes across four jet angles. OPPO warns that resistance can diminish with wear and that liquid damage is not covered by warranty. These ratings are not permission to deliberately expose the phone to water or charge it while wet.

OPPO India lists a 5910mAh typical battery capacity and 5770mAh rated capacity, with 80W SUPERVOOC wired and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. OPPO says maximum charging output can vary by region and input voltage, so the listed wattage should not be read as a guaranteed speed with every charger or setup.
In its review, 91mobiles reported more than a day of use in default balanced mode and over 12 hours in its PCMark battery test. The publication also measured 49 minutes to charge from 20% to 100% using the listed 80W speed. Those are results from that outlet’s review unit and test conditions, not a prediction of every owner’s screen time or charging time.

Magnetic wireless charging needs an accessory
The phone does not have built-in magnets for the magnetic charging setup. Tech Advisor says a separate OPPO magnetic case is needed, and OPPO India lists the magnetic case and charger as accessories. Check local accessory availability and compatibility before counting magnetic charging as a ready-to-use feature.

OPPO India’s specification page lists model CPH2659 in Space Black and Pearl White, with 16GB RAM, 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip and ColorOS 15.0. 91mobiles says its reviewed device shipped with Android 15-based ColorOS 15. These are India-specific listing and review details; they should not be assumed for every country or SKU.

The India model’s listed 5G bands are n1/n2/n3/n5/n7/n8/n12/n20/n25/n26/n28/n38/n40/n41/n66/n75/n77/n78. If importing the phone or buying outside your home market, verify the exact model number, carrier-band support, warranty coverage, included charger and local accessory availability before paying.
How long is software support, and where is it available?
At launch, 91mobiles and Tom’s Guide reported a commitment of five years of OS updates and six years of security updates. Tom’s Guide contrasted that with the seven-year promises then made by Google and Samsung. This is launch-era policy reporting, not confirmation of the phone’s current patch level, rollout schedule or regional support terms; check OPPO’s current commitment and update status for your market before purchase.
Availability details in launch reviews are also historical. Tom’s Guide reported UK sales from November 21, 2024, at £1,049 for the 16GB/512GB version, and said the phone was not sold in the United States at that time. Tech Advisor similarly described a UK return to global markets but no US release. The £1,049 figure is a launch price, not a current price, and those reports do not establish today’s stock or availability.
