To use Samsung DeX wirelessly, check that your Galaxy model supports wireless external-display DeX and that your TV or monitor supports Miracast or is a compatible Samsung display. Then open DeX from Quick Settings, select the display, and tap Start now. DeX opens a desktop-style workspace on the external screen while the Galaxy remains usable; as Samsung for Business Insights puts it, “With DeX, your second display functions independently.”
Does my Samsung TV support wireless DeX?
Wireless DeX works with supported Galaxy models and compatible displays. Samsung lists 2018-and-newer Samsung TVs, Samsung Smart Monitors, and other displays that support Miracast screen mirroring. A TV’s Samsung branding alone does not guarantee compatibility, and support varies by Galaxy model, software, and regional variant.
Samsung’s US compatibility page, checked October 7, 2026, lists wireless external-display support for Galaxy S9 series through S26; Note9, Note10, and Note20 series; Fold and Z Fold families; Z Flip7 and Z TriFold; A90 5G; and selected Galaxy Tab families through Tab S11, Tab A11+, and Tab Active3. The same page excludes previous Z Flip models and Z Flip7 FE from wireless TV/monitor DeX, and lists Tab S9 FE and Tab S10 FE series as incompatible with Wireless DeX. Use the current Samsung DeX compatibility list to check your exact device; the list is US-specific and can change. Samsung also notes that some 2018 TVs may work better with an HDMI cable.

How do I connect Samsung DeX wirelessly to my TV?
- Make the display ready. Turn on the TV or monitor and enable screen mirroring or Miracast if its interface requires it.
- Open DeX on the Galaxy. Swipe down twice from the top of the screen, or swipe down with two fingers, to open Quick Settings. Tap DeX.
- Select the display. Choose your TV or monitor from the available devices.
- Start the session. Tap Start now on the Galaxy and approve the connection on the display if prompted.
Labels can vary by One UI version. On some current devices, Samsung documents the route as Settings > Connected devices > Samsung DeX > Connect wirelessly. A current S26-oriented Samsung for Business workflow uses Settings > Connections to check Bluetooth, then Connected devices > Samsung DeX > Connect wirelessly. Follow the labels shown on your device. Can I use DeX without a keyboard?
Yes. A keyboard and mouse are optional: the Galaxy itself can act as a touchpad for DeX. Use the touchpad option from the phone’s notification or the touchpad icon when it appears. Samsung documents pairing Bluetooth keyboards and mice through Settings > Connections > Bluetooth; USB peripherals may also work where supported, sometimes with an OTG adapter. A DeX dock is not required for a wireless session.

Why is my TV not showing up in Samsung DeX?
- Check the Galaxy model. Confirm that the exact model and software support wireless external-display DeX in Samsung’s current compatibility list.
- Check the display feature. Confirm the TV or monitor supports Miracast or is a compatible Samsung TV or Smart Monitor, and turn on its screen-mirroring mode if needed.
- Use the device’s current menu path. Try DeX in Quick Settings or look under Settings > Connected devices > Samsung DeX; One UI labels can differ.
- Approve the prompt. If the display asks to allow the connection, accept it.
If the display still is not available and it lacks Miracast, use a wired DeX connection instead, provided the Galaxy supports video output.

Why is wireless DeX lagging?
Keep the Galaxy and display a short distance apart. Samsung recommends proximity to help prevent stutter and lag, but does not publish a numeric distance, latency, or performance guarantee for this setup. If a Samsung TV remote-access connection behaves poorly while the Galaxy screen is off, turn the phone screen on and reconnect. Samsung notes that touchscreen displays are not supported for DeX interaction.

What can I use if my monitor doesn’t support Miracast?
Use a compatible DeX/HDMI cable or USB-C-to-HDMI adapter if your Galaxy supports wired video output. This is a wired DeX setup, not wireless DeX. Check Samsung’s guidance for your exact device and the display’s HDMI input before choosing an adapter; the Samsung DeX support guide covers compatible connection options.

How do I exit wireless DeX?
On the DeX screen, open the Apps menu and choose Exit DeX.
