The Electrolux EBE4507SA is a discontinued 453 L frost-free bottom-mount refrigerator with a manufacturer-listed 4.5-star energy rating and annual use of 297 kWh. Those specifications make it possible to assess its size and declared energy consumption, but the public independent-review evidence is limited: CHOICE labels its test year as 2018, and its detailed scores and results are member-only. Whether it is a sensible buy now depends on the appliance’s condition, fit, warranty and verified price—not on treating old test data or a successor model as a current endorsement.
What the EBE4507SA offers
Electrolux describes the EBE4507SA as a stainless-steel, frost-free bottom-mount refrigerator. Its listed gross capacity is 453 L in total: 311 L for the food compartment and 142 L for the freezer. These are gross figures, not a guarantee of the usable space available for groceries.
Electrolux lists internal electronic touch controls, a fridge-door alarm, drink-chill and freezer-temperature alarms, holiday and eco modes, fast-ice and boost functions, telescopic deli-compartment runners, glass shelves, LED lighting and two twist ice-and-serve trays. Its product page says FreshPlus detects door openings and starts re-cooling, while double-insulated crispers are intended to stabilize temperature and humidity. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance findings.

Measure the installation space, route to the kitchen and door clearance before buying. Electrolux lists the exterior dimensions as 699 mm wide, 773 mm deep and 1,725 mm high. The cabinet itself is 693 mm wide, 641 mm deep and 1,705 mm high. The stated depth with the door open to 90 degrees is 1,360 mm, and the product page specifies 50 mm of air space above the cabinet.

- Allow for the door’s 90-degree-open depth and confirm it can swing without hitting a wall, island or adjacent cabinet.
- Confirm the delivery path and the required ventilation clearances against the appliance’s manual.
How much electricity does it use?
Electrolux lists 4.5 stars and 297 kWh per year under AS/NZS 4474.2:2009. The fact sheet’s publication year is not stated. Treat 297 kWh/year as a declared label figure, not a measurement of your household’s actual annual consumption or bill. At a tariff of 30 cents per kWh, for example, multiplying 297 by $0.30 gives an indicative $89.10 per year; your actual cost depends on your tariff and use.
When comparing refrigerators, use the same energy-label basis and consider models with similar capacity and features. The Australian Energy Rating guidance notes that star ratings are most useful for comparisons among similar refrigerators; the annual consumption figure can help estimate energy use and cost. A 4.5-star rating alone does not establish that this large model uses less electricity than every smaller or differently equipped fridge.

What do independent reviews establish?
CHOICE’s public EBE4507SA listing identifies 2018 as the test year and marks the model discontinued. The page repeats the claimed capacity and energy figures, but its CHOICE Expert Rating and detailed results—including temperature stability, temperature evenness, noise, food preservation and running cost—are restricted to members. The public listing therefore does not provide an accessible current performance score or enough open test data to rank this fridge against alternatives.
ProductReview.com.au shows a 3.5 rating from five reviews and also marks the model discontinued. Some individual comments describe a handle replacement or a door-seal replacement following humidity concerns. Five self-selected reviews cannot establish how often faults occur, the typical lifespan, or whether a particular repair diagnosis applies to another unit.

Is the EBE4507SA discontinued, and what replaces it?
CHOICE and ProductReview.com.au identify the EBE4507SA as discontinued. ProductReview.com.au names the EBE4507SB as its replacement, but that does not prove the successor has identical dimensions, features or performance. Current retailer stock and pricing were not verified.
If you are considering an EBE4507SA in remaining stock or second-hand, check its exact model suffix, measurements, door swing, condition, service history, warranty terms and energy label. Compare the EBE4507SB’s current fact sheet on the same points before treating it as a like-for-like alternative.

What should owners know about warranty and repairs?
Electrolux lists a two-year domestic warranty and an additional three years for the sealed refrigeration system only. Do not assume original coverage transfers to a used appliance: confirm the terms applicable to its age, sale channel and jurisdiction.

Verdict: is the EBE4507SA worth buying?
It may suit someone who needs a large bottom-mount fridge and can verify that the particular unit fits, works properly and is fairly priced. But the evidence available publicly does not justify calling it a proven performer today: the independent test is from 2018, detailed CHOICE results are behind membership access, and a small number of owner reviews cannot establish reliability. For a used unit especially, condition, documentation, service history and confirmed parts support matter more than the model’s old feature list.
