To check whether custom code was added in manual mode, save it, update the website, then inspect the live page in Chrome. In DevTools, open Elements and search for a distinctive phrase or identifier from the snippet. A match confirms that the text appears in the page’s Elements view; it does not, by itself, prove the integration is working.

Check the published page for your code

  1. In the builder, save the custom code and select Update website. The published version needs to include your latest change. Changes are visible in preview and online, not in the editor.
  2. Open the website in Google Chrome.
  3. Right-click the page and choose Inspect.
  4. In DevTools, select Elements.
  5. Press Ctrl+F on Windows or Cmd+F on macOS.
  6. Search for a distinctive phrase from the snippet or a unique identifier, such as an analytics ID. Searching a short, unique string can be easier than searching the entire snippet.

If the string appears, the code is present in the page’s Elements view. The editor canvas is not the right place to verify it: custom code is shown in preview mode and on the published website, rather than inside the editor.

Confirm where the code was entered

Manual mode provides two relevant insertion routes. Check the one that matches the snippet’s intended placement; the integration provider’s instructions should determine whether its code belongs in the head or body. Placement guidance describes the tag locations.

Code intended for the head

In the builder, go to More (⋯) → Integrations → Custom code. The instructions place <meta>, <link>, and <style> tags in the <head>. They place <script>, <noscript>, and <iframe> tags at the end of the <body>, unless a script uses data-render-head to load from the head. Save the change and update the website.

Code intended for the body

Open Add elements, add an Embed code element where it belongs, choose Enter code, insert the snippet, and select Embed code. Update the website after adding it.

If your search finds no match

  • Confirm you selected Update website after saving the code.
  • Check that Chrome is showing the correct website and page.
  • Search for a distinctive phrase or identifier from the snippet rather than an unrelated term.
  • Check the Integrations custom-code field for head-level code and Embed code elements for body-level code.

If the snippet is present but an embedded widget is not visible, clear the browser cache and check again. A code string appearing in Elements only verifies its presence there; it does not establish that the snippet is valid or that a third-party service has loaded successfully.

Isolate code if it causes a problem

If the website behaves incorrectly after code was added, remove snippets temporarily to find out whether one is involved. Troubleshooting guidance recommends backing up the code, clearing the Integrations custom-code field, temporarily removing code from Embed code elements, and updating the website. If the issue disappears, re-add snippets one at a time, updating and checking after each addition. If the problem continues, try a private browsing window or clear the browser cache, then contact support if needed.
