The design suggests a shoe aimed at easy, sustained road training rather than a flexible, minimalist ride: the midsole uses FF BLAST MAX foam, while a hard-pressed EVA plate and curved GUIDESOLE rocker create a stiffer forefoot profile. Upper and outsole
ASICS describes the upper as engineered woven material and says it is breathable. The Singapore listing also names an EVA sockliner, a HYBRID ASICSGRIP outsole made with ASICSGRIP rubber and AHARPLUS materials, and a heel pull tab. Material names and manufacturer descriptions do not establish real-world breathability, grip, or outsole life.

The available official product details establish that a men’s 2E wide version is listed in New Zealand, separately from the standard men’s listing in Australia. They do not establish how the shoe fits in practice, whether it runs true to size, or whether its shape suits a particular foot. If width or sizing is uncertain, try it on where possible and consult the size and return guidance for the retailer and market where you plan to buy.

Is the GLIDERIDE MAX 2 worth buying?
It is a plausible candidate if you are looking for a heavily cushioned road shoe for long or recovery runs and specifically want a structured, rocker-shaped forefoot. Consider another design if you know you prefer a flexible forefoot, or if you need independent evidence about fit, grip, or durability before choosing.
There is not enough verified hands-on evidence here to call the shoe comfortable, stable, efficient, or long-lasting for a particular runner. Treat the official use description and construction as a guide to what ASICS intended, then use a try-on or a suitable return policy to judge the fit for yourself.
