Yes—one wireless keyboard can work with two devices at different times if it has a multi-device feature. Pair each device to a channel, then select that channel when you want to type to that device. The keyboard sends input to the selected connection, not to every paired device at once. Wireless capability alone does not guarantee multi-device support.
How to connect one keyboard to two devices
- Check the keyboard’s device slots. Look for a multi-device feature or dedicated channel buttons in the exact model’s specifications or manual.
- Pair the first device. Select a channel, start pairing mode using the keyboard’s instructions, then choose the keyboard in that device’s Bluetooth settings or connect its supported USB receiver.
- Pair the second device to another channel. Repeat the model-specific pairing process using a different slot.
- Switch when you need to type elsewhere. Press the button for the paired device you want to use. That selected connection receives your keystrokes.
Button sequences vary by keyboard. For example, Logitech’s Easy-Switch guide describes assigning devices to different buttons and switching with a button press. For Keys-To-Go 2, Logitech says to hold the desired Easy-Switch button for three seconds to begin Bluetooth discovery, select “Keys-To-Go 2” in the device’s Bluetooth settings, and use a short press to switch to a previously connected device. Follow the manual for your exact model rather than assuming these steps apply to every keyboard.
How many devices can a keyboard remember?
The number depends on the model. Logitech’s undated feature guide says compatible Easy-Switch keyboards can pair with up to three devices. Its cited product specifications give these examples:

Bluetooth, USB receiver, and device compatibility
Some keyboards combine Bluetooth with a USB receiver, but the available connection method can depend on the channel. For instance, Logitech’s K580 product page describes Bluetooth and a 2.4 GHz USB receiver, while its K780 product page specifies Bluetooth or a Unifying receiver. Do not assume every channel accepts every connection type.
Before buying, confirm the exact model’s device-slot count, connection options, operating-system compatibility, keyboard layout, and physical size. If you plan to use a phone or tablet, check whether a cradle or stand is included or built in.

If the keyboard will not switch devices
- Confirm the keyboard supports multiple device slots; being wireless is not enough.
- Check that the intended device was paired to the channel you selected.
- Make sure the keyboard has power and select the correct channel button.
- For Bluetooth, check the target device’s Bluetooth settings. If normal reconnection fails, remove a stale pairing and pair again.
- If using a receiver, confirm it is connected and supported for the selected channel.
Logitech’s Easy-Switch troubleshooting guide likewise points users to check power, the Bluetooth or receiver connection, old pairings, and the selected channel. Other keyboards may have different controls and recovery steps, so consult their manuals.
