In WARDOGS, the Stingray is described by community guides as a buildable launcher for a remotely piloted, single-use anti-vehicle UAV. To use one, place the launcher inside a friendly FOB build area, prepare a UAV, then launch and steer it toward a target. Progression gates, costs, and controls can change by game build, so confirm each in the live menus before spending resources.
What the Stingray does
The Stingray is a launcher for a one-use UAV that the operator pilots remotely. Preparing a drone consumes resources whether or not the attack succeeds, and controlling it occupies your attention while your character remains vulnerable. Treat it as a deliberate attack option, not a risk-free scouting tool.
What you need to build one
Secondary guides report that the launcher must be placed with a Large Hammer inside a friendly FOB build area, after reaching a Support progression requirement. Those guides are not official current mechanics documentation, so verify the unlock and placement requirements in your current game.

Because these values and requirements are unverified against official current documentation, use the Hammer and launcher UI as the deciding source. Make sure the FOB has the displayed Mechanical Supplies before trying to prepare a UAV.

Build and launch the Stingray
- Check the gate: Confirm your Support progression and the required Hammer in the current game UI; Support level 8 and a Large Hammer are reported by guides, not guaranteed current requirements.
- Enter a friendly FOB build area: Use the Hammer’s build interface and place the Stingray where the interface permits.
- Check available resources: Read the launcher’s displayed cost and ensure the FOB can supply the UAV before preparing it.
- Choose a target first: Locate the vehicle and decide whether it is worth the one-use resource cost before entering drone view.
- Prepare and launch: The reported default is B to prepare a UAV and left-click to launch. Your current bindings may differ.

These are reported defaults, not a promise about your current build. Check the game’s Controls screen for the active bindings, especially if you have customized them.
- Mark the target or its area on the map before launch to help maintain your bearings.
- Use normal speed while searching. Guides warn that boosting drains battery faster, so save it for the approach.
- Use braking carefully as well; it is also reported to consume battery faster.
- Keep in mind that the operator is vulnerable while in drone view. Choose a position and moment that reduce the chance of being interrupted.
Choose a target without assuming a guaranteed kill
Community guidance suggests looking for stationary or committed armor, where movement is more predictable, and weighing the target’s tactical value against the resources consumed. A vehicle that is moving unpredictably or is difficult to locate may be a poor use of a single-use UAV.

When a Stingray attempt fails
- The launcher will not place: Check whether you are inside a friendly FOB build area, have the required Hammer, and meet the current progression gate.
- You cannot prepare a UAV: Read the launcher’s live resource display and confirm the FOB has enough Mechanical Supplies and any other listed currency.
- The controls do not match: Look up the current drone actions in the Controls screen rather than relying on a guide’s default keys.
- The target escapes or the UAV runs out of battery: Avoid spending the UAV until you have identified the target, and reserve boost for the approach.
