To animate text in Adobe Spark’s successor, Adobe Express, select the text box, open Animation in the Text panel, and choose an effect. Use In to bring text onto the page, Looping to keep it moving, or Out to animate it away. Preview the result before downloading.
Animate an individual text box in Adobe Express

Open your design in Adobe Express and select the text box you want to animate.

In the Text panel, select Animation. Adobe’s current text-editing instructions document this workflow in Express: Adobe Express: Animate text.

Choose an effect category: In, Looping, or Out. In effects introduce the text, Looping effects continue while it remains on the page, and Out effects animate it away. See Adobe Express animation overview.

Adjust any controls offered for that effect. Depending on the selection and platform, these can include direction, speed, and timing.

Preview the design, then download it in the format you need.
The available settings depend on the chosen effect, so not every animation will show the same controls. Adobe’s tutorial also demonstrates animating text by following the same basic process: Adobe Express tutorial: Animate text.

Adobe documents both options in its animation overview. On mobile, selecting an individual text box or other object lets you choose an In, Out, or Loop animation; documented properties include Duration, Personality, fade, and Direction. The controls can differ by platform.
Sequence presentation text with Click order
If you want text or other objects to appear in response to successive clicks, use the presentation-specific Click order workflow rather than relying only on a looping or entrance effect.

Add animations to the objects you want to reveal.

Open Click order and drag the objects into the sequence in which they should appear.

Preview the presentation to check the order and playback.

Export the animation as a GIF
Adobe documents GIF export for videos and animations up to 60 seconds. GIF export does not support audio or transparent backgrounds, so a GIF will not preserve either of those properties. If your design needs sound or transparency, check Adobe’s current export choices for a suitable format instead. For details, see Adobe Express: Convert to GIF.
What happened to Adobe Spark?
Adobe Express replaced Adobe Spark on the web and Adobe Spark Post on mobile, so current instructions for the web-based design workflow use the Express name. Adobe’s naming update is explained in its Adobe Spark and Adobe Express help page.
Spark Video and Spark Page were separate legacy iOS apps, not just alternate names for Spark Post. Adobe says those apps were discontinued on March 17, 2025, and that video and webpage editing capabilities are available in the Adobe Express mobile app. See Adobe’s Spark Video and Spark Page discontinuation notice.
