To change the payment method for an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription billed by Amazon, open Your Amazon Music Settings, find Payment Method, and select Change. If Apple bills the subscription because you signed up in the Amazon Music app on an iPhone or iPad, manage the payment through Apple instead.
First, check who bills your Amazon Music subscription
The billing provider—not the device you use to listen—determines where you can change the payment method. Amazon says subscriptions created through the Amazon Music app on an iPhone or iPad are billed through Apple iTunes. Amazon cannot manage or update the payment method for those subscriptions. Amazon Music’s FAQ explains the Apple-billed plan.

If Amazon bills you directly, use the subscription-specific payment setting in Amazon Music. If another third party bills you, manage billing through that provider’s account or support.

Change an Apple-billed subscription through Apple
For an Amazon Music Unlimited plan started in the Amazon Music app on an iPhone or iPad, update the payment information through Apple’s device settings or Apple account. Amazon says it cannot manage, update, or refund these Apple-created subscriptions. Amazon’s FAQ identifies this iOS billing route.
Why changing your Amazon wallet may not update Music billing
Amazon’s general Your Payments instructions cover editing a payment method’s name, expiration date, or billing address, as well as adding or removing wallet methods. A wallet change is not a substitute for changing the payment method in the Music subscription settings. Amazon also notes that changing an account payment method does not change open orders.

If Amazon declined your payment
Amazon’s Amazon Music Unlimited terms say that if every payment method on file for an Unlimited Plan is declined, you must provide a new method promptly or the plan will be canceled. The terms do not specify a fixed grace period. If Amazon successfully charges a new method before cancellation, the subscription term is based on the original renewal or subscription date, not the date of the successful charge.
When billing is handled by a third party, that provider’s billing terms apply. Amazon’s terms do not establish that Amazon can change a payment method controlled by another provider.
