Binadit’s 2026 case study says a B2B scheduling and resource-planning service cut its reported p95 API response time from 4.2 seconds to 380 milliseconds by fixing several interacting bottlenecks—not by simply adding capacity. The account is useful as a troubleshooting example, but it is not an independently verified benchmark: the customer is unnamed, and raw traces and telemetry are not public.
What happened in the reported latency incident?
Binadit describes a SaaS platform with about 40,000 active users whose p95 API response time rose from roughly 400 milliseconds to more than 4.2 seconds over about six months. Customers were reporting that the dashboard felt laggy. Before the audit, the unnamed company had tried larger instances, a read replica, and scheduled service restarts, without lasting improvement.
According to the consultancy, its first week focused on tracing requests across the API gateway, application servers, database, and cache during typical business-hour load. That request-level view led it to report five contributing issues: excess database queries, connection-pool contention, broad cache invalidation, cross-zone Redis calls, and a synchronous analytics webhook. These are Binadit’s case-study findings, not independently replicated measurements.
Which bottlenecks did Binadit report?
1. The dashboard made an N+1 query pattern
For an account with 40 projects, the dashboard reportedly made 41 database round trips: one to fetch the account’s projects and another status lookup for each project. Binadit says it replaced the per-project lookups with a joined query. The case study reports that dashboard query time fell from about 620 milliseconds on average to 45 milliseconds.

LED indicators clearly show wiring status, while the G light instantly identifies shielded (FTP/STP) or unshielded (UTP) cables. Supports safe testing of telephone lines with typical voltages under 48-72V, ideal for both home and professional use.
2. Application pools competed for limited PostgreSQL connections
Each of eight application servers reportedly had a pool of 20 connections, while PostgreSQL allowed 100 connections. Together, the configured application pools could request up to 160 connections against that database limit, so requests waited for an available connection at peak times. Binadit says it reduced each pool to 12 and added PgBouncer in transaction-pooling mode. It reports average peak database connection wait falling from about 180 milliseconds to under 5 milliseconds.
3. Cache invalidation was broader than necessary
The service reportedly flushed an entire Redis namespace whenever any record was written, despite using a 30-second time-to-live. Binadit reports a cache hit ratio of 34% before changing the approach to key-level invalidation while retaining the TTL as a safety net. The reported hit ratio reached 91% within the first week after the change.

4. Some Redis traffic crossed availability zones
The consultancy says the application and Redis were placed across availability zones, and about 40% of Redis calls crossed zones. It reports moving Redis and application servers to favor same-zone traffic and adding zone-aware routing. The public account does not provide Redis call counts or enough raw telemetry to independently quantify how much this factor added to overall latency.
5. An analytics webhook ran in the request path
Binadit says a webhook to an analytics provider was called synchronously and could take 800 milliseconds to 1.5 seconds on a bad day. The reported remedy was to place delivery on a Redis-backed queue, with retries and a dead-letter queue, rather than making the API request wait for the external service. The account does not publish a separate latency measurement for this change.

What before-and-after results does the case study report?
The following figures are reported by Binadit in its 2026 case study. They are not independently remeasured or accompanied by public raw traces, and the account does not identify the client.
| Measure | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| p95 API response time | 4.2 seconds | 380 milliseconds |
| p50 API response time | 1.1 seconds | 95 milliseconds |
| Dashboard database round trips | 41 | 1 |
| Average dashboard query time | About 620 milliseconds | 45 milliseconds |
| Average peak database connection wait | About 180 milliseconds | Under 5 milliseconds |
| Cache hit ratio | 34% | 91% within the first week after the change |
| Monthly infrastructure cost | Baseline not stated | 18% lower after reported right-sizing |
| 90-day rolling uptime | 99.91% | 99.97% |
Binadit also says trial-to-paid conversion had fallen 11% over the same period and recovered over the following quarter. The case study explicitly does not assign a direct causal figure to that recovery, so it should not be treated as a measured outcome of the latency work.

How can you apply the troubleshooting method?
The most transferable lesson is to locate time spent by an individual request before changing infrastructure capacity. A slow endpoint may accumulate small delays across multiple dependencies; a single visible symptom does not establish a single root cause. In Binadit’s words, “That is often how latency problems in high availability infrastructure actually work: it is rarely one dramatic bottleneck, it is several smaller ones stacking on top of each other.”

- Measure query count and query duration. Compare database round trips per request and look for repeated lookups such as one status query per dashboard row. Confirm whether a joined query or another data-access change reduces work without changing the result.
- Separate connection wait from query execution time. Track pool utilization, database connection limits, and time waiting to acquire a connection. Make pool sizing consistent with the database’s connection budget; consider a pooler where appropriate and verify its mode and transaction behavior for the application.
- Inspect cache hit rate and invalidation scope. Determine whether a write invalidates only the affected key or unnecessarily clears unrelated entries. Validate correctness as well as hit rate; stale data risk is not solved by maximizing cache hits.
- Check dependency placement and request-path work. Measure network calls between zones and identify third-party calls made synchronously. Move nonessential work off the response path only with durable queueing, retry limits, and a plan for events that cannot be delivered.
- Change one thing at a time and measure again. Use comparable request types and load conditions, then inspect the same traces and service-level metrics after each change. Binadit says its changes were rolled out incrementally; the consultancy also notes that it would have preferred production-like load testing before rollout.
What can—and cannot—be concluded from this case?
The case provides a plausible diagnostic sequence and concrete examples of how query count, connection contention, cache behavior, network topology, and synchronous dependencies can combine. It does not establish that another service will see the same gains, or that any one remediation accounts for a particular share of the reported improvement.

The customer is unnamed, and the public account includes no raw traces, tracing export, benchmark protocol, or independent remeasurement. A DEV Community republication echoes the original account rather than independently corroborating it. Clarity Today’s analysis characterizes the account as consultancy marketing: it considers the mechanisms plausible while cautioning that the figures—particularly the aggregate cross-zone Redis contribution—are not independently established. Treat the results as reported case-study outcomes, not a reproducible guarantee.
When should you use observability or profiling tools?
For a similar investigation, compare tools on end-to-end trace coverage, visibility into queues and downstream services, profiling detail, language and runtime support, production overhead, deployment and data-retention constraints, and cost. A trace can show where request time accumulates; profiling can help explain what application code is doing during that time. Neither replaces testing under representative load.
Atatus’s product page says its continuous profiling can be linked to traces and discusses N+1 detection. Those are vendor claims, not an independent evaluation of the product. The Binadit account does not identify the tools used for its investigation, so it does not support a claim that a particular observability product produced the reported results.
