Meta Pixel Helper cannot inspect a Conversions API (CAPI) POST sent by your server. Pixel Helper is a browser-side diagnostic; CAPI requests travel directly from your server to Meta. And while HTTP 200 indicates a successful endpoint operation, it does not by itself prove that the intended event reached the right data source, contains the expected values, or deduplicates with a browser event.
Why Pixel Helper cannot see a Conversions API POST
The two event paths start in different places. A Meta Pixel event runs in a visitor’s browser, where a browser extension can inspect browser activity. A CAPI event is sent directly from the advertiser’s server, so Pixel Helper cannot observe that independent server-to-server request.
| Check | Browser Pixel | Conversions API |
|---|---|---|
| Request originates from | Visitor’s browser | Advertiser’s server |
| First diagnostic to use | Browser developer tools and Pixel Helper | Application or server request and response logs |
| Meta-side receipt check | Events Manager diagnostics | Events Manager Test Events during testing |
Use Pixel Helper to investigate browser Pixel events and their firing conditions. Its silence about a CAPI event is not evidence that the server request failed.

Meta’s archived API specification documents HTTP 200 as a successful operation response. That is narrower than confirming every part of your tracking setup: the status alone does not establish that the event appeared in the intended data source, that its payload has the values you expect, or that a browser/server pair was deduplicated. Read the response body as well as the status line.

The specification is in Meta’s archived API schema, which references an older Graph API version. Treat its field rules as useful schema evidence, not a substitute for checking the current API documentation before implementation.
How to verify a server-side event
- Inspect the actual server request. In your application or server logs, confirm that your code made a POST to the intended data source’s
/eventsendpoint using the API version your integration is configured for. Inspect the request payload, not just the status line. - Read the response body. Check that it corresponds to the request you intended to send, and retain any event receipt counts or error information returned by the API.
- Use Test Events while testing. Send a
test_event_codeand open the matching data source’s Test Events view in Events Manager. Check that the expected event appears and that its received parameters match the intended payload. Meta’s archived API specification describes this code as a way to verify receipt in Test Events. - Compare the event with your intended action. Check the event name, timestamp, user data, action source, and other fields your integration is meant to send. The archived schema lists
event_name,event_time,user_data, andaction_sourceas required event fields; verify current requirements against the live API version.
If the same action is sent through Pixel and CAPI
When the browser and server both report the same user action, Meta’s deduplication guidance calls for matching event names and a shared event ID: the browser’s eventID should match the server’s event_id. Meta’s Conversions API Direct Integration Playbook describes matching event_name and event_id within 48 hours as its recommended approach. The playbook is older, so confirm current operational details before relying on its timing guidance.

- Google Pixel 10a is a durable, everyday phone with more[1]; snap brilliant photography on a simple, powerful camera, get 30+ hours out of a full charge[2], and do more with helpful AI like Gemini[3]
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan; it works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers
- Pixel 10a is sleek and durable, with a super smooth finish, scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 7i display, and IP68 water and dust protection[4]

A mismatch in the event name or ID can keep the two reports from being recognized as the same event. Compare the values on both routes rather than assuming that a successful server response proves deduplication.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhen the request succeeds but the event is missing or unexpected
If you receive a successful response but do not see the expected event in Test Events, investigate the request and test setup before blaming Pixel Helper:
- Confirm the POST targets the intended data source and
/eventsendpoint. - Check the payload and response body for errors or unexpected values.
- Make sure the
test_event_codebelongs to the Test Events session you are viewing. - Review the event name, event time, and required fields against the current API documentation.
- If the browser also sends the action, compare its event name and ID with the server’s values.
The archived schema also documents a limit under which server event timestamps can be up to seven days before submission; requests beyond that documented limit are rejected. This is a version-specific archived detail, not a guarantee for current API behavior. Check the live documentation before using it to guide an implementation.
