There is no reliable price difference to calculate from the available official information: Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $499.99 in 2025, while TECNO’s reviewed official pages show no price.

Which phone has the better display?
On listed specifications, the POVA 8 Pro has the larger and sharper screen and the higher maximum refresh rate: 6.78 inches, 2644 × 1208 and up to 144 Hz, compared with the A56’s 6.7-inch, 1080 × 2340 display at up to 120 Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion look smoother, but these figures alone do not establish which screen looks better in person. Manufacturer brightness claims are not directly comparable as independent test results.

Which has the better battery?
TECNO lists a 6,500 mAh battery, compared with Samsung’s 5,000 mAh typical capacity. Both manufacturers list 45 W charging. Capacity is not the same as measured runtime: actual battery life depends on usage, network conditions, software and other factors. No matched independent endurance test is available here, so the larger listed capacity does not prove a specific difference in hours of use.

- 25W Samsung Super Fast Charger Included, 6.7" FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, 1080x2340px, Fingerprint (under display, optical), IP67 dust and water resistance
- 256GB, 8GB, No SD Card Slot, Exynos 1580 (4nm), Octa-core, Xclipse 540 GPU, Android 15, up to 6 major Android upgrades, One UI 7

Camera comparison: modules are not image-quality results
The A56 lists three rear cameras: a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12 MP ultrawide and a 5 MP macro camera. TECNO lists a 50 MP OIS main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide; its product page identifies the main sensor as Sony LYTIA 700C. The A56 therefore has a dedicated macro module and a higher-resolution listed ultrawide, while the POVA’s front camera is listed at 13 MP versus 12 MP on the A56.
These are configuration differences, not evidence that one phone takes better photos. Megapixel counts and camera-module names do not substitute for side-by-side image tests, which are not available for this comparison.

Software support and durability
Updates
Samsung states that the A56 will receive six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and six years of security updates. TECNO’s Saudi specification page identifies the POVA 8 Pro as running Android 16-based HiOS 16, but does not state a comparable update-support duration. That omission does not establish that TECNO offers no updates; it means a matching duration is not documented on the page reviewed.

Water and dust protection
Samsung’s announcement lists IP67, while TECNO’s product page promotes IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 ratings. These manufacturer claims use different ratings and should not be read as a guarantee against every kind of water or dust exposure. Check the exact regional model’s documentation and warranty terms; an ingress-protection rating does not by itself mean liquid damage is covered.

How much does the POVA 8 Pro cost, and what is the price difference?
Samsung’s U.S. newsroom announcement, updated July 18, 2025, gave the Galaxy A56 5G a starting price of $499.99 and identified 128 GB and 256 GB variants. That is a historical U.S. announced starting price, not a current quote or a global price. TECNO’s official product and Saudi specification pages reviewed list features and storage options but no price.
As a result, a current price difference cannot be established from these figures. To compare fairly, check current prices in your country for the same storage tier and account for taxes, seller authorization, network compatibility and warranty. The POVA’s 256 GB and 512 GB options should not be compared as though they were the same configuration as Samsung’s 128 GB or 256 GB models.

Which phone is better for you?
- Consider the POVA 8 Pro if its listed 144 Hz, higher-resolution display or 6,500 mAh battery capacity is a priority, and its local price, warranty and carrier compatibility work for you.
- Consider the Galaxy A56 if Samsung’s documented update commitment, its listed three-camera rear arrangement, or its 12 MP ultrawide better fits your priorities.
- For gaming or camera quality, seek independent side-by-side tests. The available specifications do not establish a performance or image-quality winner.
- Before buying either phone, verify the exact regional variant, physical memory and storage, supported carrier bands, seller and warranty. TECNO’s RAM figures may include extended or virtual memory, which is not equivalent to installed physical RAM.
