For matching 6GB/128GB models, the vivo T4x 5G was listed at ₹16,999 and the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G at ₹23,499 on the official India storefronts checked on October 7, 2026—a ₹6,500 observed difference. The T4x lists a larger battery, faster rated charging and a 120 Hz display; the A17 lists a Super AMOLED panel, rear-camera optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a longer, clearly stated software-support commitment. Neither phone is an established overall performance winner based on specifications alone.
Price difference in India
The comparison below uses the same 6GB/128GB configuration for both phones. Official storefront prices observed on October 7, 2026 were ₹16,999 for the vivo T4x 5G and ₹23,499 for the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, a difference of ₹6,500. These are time-sensitive store results, not guaranteed prices: the vivo listing showed another color at ₹17,999, and current offers or variant availability can change.
Samsung’s launch announcement gave ₹18,999 as the launch price for the A17 6GB/128GB model. That is a historical launch price, not the ₹23,499 storefront observation. Both phones were also listed in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB configurations, so check the exact memory, storage and color before comparing a live offer. vivo’s T4x specifications, the vivo India store, Samsung’s Galaxy A17 specifications and Samsung’s purchase page provide the manufacturer listings; prices should be rechecked before buying.

Specifications are manufacturer-published, not results from comparable independent tests. Display size, refresh rate, camera megapixels and battery capacity do not by themselves establish which phone looks better, takes better photos or lasts longer in everyday use.

Which phone has the better display?
vivo T4x: higher refresh rate
The T4x has a 6.72-inch, 120 Hz LCD. Its listed refresh rate is higher than the A17’s, a specification that can support smoother scrolling and motion when content and settings make use of it. The panel is LCD rather than AMOLED.
Galaxy A17: Super AMOLED panel
Samsung lists a 6.7-inch-class FHD+ Super AMOLED display running at 90 Hz. Buyers who prioritize AMOLED technology may find that distinction more relevant than the T4x’s higher refresh-rate figure. The listed specifications do not establish a measured image-quality winner.

How do performance and battery specifications compare?
Chipsets
vivo lists a 4 nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G, while Samsung lists a 5 nm Exynos 1330 octa-core processor. Those details identify the stated chipsets and manufacturing processes; no matched benchmark results are available here to show which phone is faster in apps, games or sustained workloads.
Battery and charging
The T4x has a stated typical battery capacity of 6,500 mAh and charging rated up to 44 W. Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh typical battery, and its launch announcement specifies 25 W charging. The T4x therefore leads on these published capacity and charging-power figures, but they do not predict screen-on time or how long either phone takes to charge under real conditions.

What differs in the cameras?
The T4x lists a 50 MP main rear camera with a 2 MP bokeh camera, plus an 8 MP front camera. The A17 lists 50 MP, 5 MP and 2 MP rear cameras, specifies OIS, and has a 13 MP front camera. OIS is a concrete stabilisation feature on Samsung’s listing; a higher camera count or megapixel figure alone does not show which phone produces better photos. No comparable camera testing establishes a winner.
Durability, box contents and software support
Water and dust ratings
vivo specifies an IP64 rating for the T4x; Samsung specifies IP54 for the A17 and claims Gorilla Glass Victus on the front. These are different manufacturer-stated protections, not a guarantee against all water, dust or impact damage. Water resistance can diminish with wear, and damage protection should not be assumed to be permanent.

What comes in the box
vivo’s listed box contents include a charger and phone case. Samsung says the A17 does not include a travel adapter. Check the seller’s exact package and regional listing rather than assuming accessories are included beyond what the manufacturer states.

Samsung states six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the A17; its specifications page gives a security-support date of August 31, 2031. The captured vivo parameter page lists Android 15 and Funtouch OS 15 but does not confirm a matching support duration. That absence on the page is not evidence that vivo has no support policy.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider the vivo T4x 5G if the lower observed 6GB/128GB storefront price, larger stated battery, higher rated charging power or 120 Hz refresh rate matters most to you.
- Consider the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G if you prefer a Super AMOLED display, want OIS specified for the rear camera, or value Samsung’s documented Android and security-update commitment.
- Compare the exact listing before checkout if another RAM/storage variant or color is under consideration; the observed prices and color listings differed.
