The MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ and Helio G99 share a similar listed CPU layout, the same Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, and support for LPDDR4x memory and UFS 2.2 storage. The clearest difference is cellular connectivity: the Dimensity 6100+ supports 5G, while the Helio G99 is a 4G LTE chipset. Benchmark databases disagree about which is faster, so neither chip has a conclusive lead based on the available aggregate results.
Specifications at a glance
| Specification | Dimensity 6100+ | Helio G99 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | 2 Arm Cortex-A76 cores up to 2.2 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz | 2 Arm Cortex-A76 cores up to 2.2 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz |
| GPU | Arm Mali-G57 MC2 | Arm Mali-G57 MC2 |
| Memory and storage support | LPDDR4x and UFS 2.2 | LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2 |
| Cellular connectivity | 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G; Release 16 5G modem | 2G, 3G and 4G LTE Cat-13 |
| Maximum stated cellular download rate | Up to 3.3 Gbps peak, as stated by MediaTek | Not stated on MediaTek’s cited product page |
| Display platform support | Up to 120 Hz and 2520 × 1080 | Up to 120 Hz and 2520 × 1080 |
| Camera platform support | Image signal processor support up to 108 MP | Camera support up to 108 MP |
These are platform capabilities, not guarantees about a finished phone. A handset maker may choose different components or configurations, and the phone’s implementation determines the experience. MediaTek lists the Dimensity 6100+ specifications and Helio G99 specifications.
Connectivity is the most important difference
Dimensity 6100+: 5G-capable
The Dimensity 6100+ includes a Release 16 5G modem. MediaTek states peak download speeds of up to 3.3 Gbps; this is a platform peak, not a speed a user should expect in ordinary service. Actual connectivity and speed depend on the carrier, coverage, supported bands, and the phone’s regional configuration. MediaTek introduced the 6100+ as part of its mainstream 5G-focused Dimensity 6000 series in its 2023 launch announcement.
Helio G99: 4G LTE
The Helio G99 supports 4G LTE Cat-13, rather than 5G. If 5G service is a requirement, the Dimensity 6100+ is the relevant choice between these two chipsets—but confirm that the specific phone supports the bands used by your carrier. Chipset-level 5G support alone does not ensure compatibility with every local network.

CPU and graphics: similar listed hardware
Both chips list two Cortex-A76 performance cores with maximum clock speeds of 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz. They also list the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. On paper, those specifications make the CPU layout and named graphics configuration closely matched; they do not establish that two phones will perform identically.
Memory and storage support are also similar: MediaTek lists LPDDR4x-family memory and UFS 2.2 for both platforms. A phone’s actual RAM and storage configuration, cooling, and software can affect responsiveness and sustained performance, so compare the handset specifications as well as the chipset.

Benchmark comparison: results point in opposite directions
Published benchmark aggregates do not give a consistent winner. NanoReview’s displayed AnTuTu 11 comparison favors the Helio G99, while 91mobiles’ displayed AnTuTu comparison favors the Dimensity 6100+. The results come from different sources and should not be combined into a single ranking.
| Source and benchmark | Dimensity 6100+ | Helio G99 | What the displayed results show |
|---|---|---|---|
| NanoReview, AnTuTu 11 (accessed 2026) | 513,809; 16 samples | 554,590; 313 samples | Helio G99 is higher in this comparison. |
| 91mobiles, AnTuTu (accessed 2026) | 418,175 | 380,698 | Dimensity 6100+ is higher in this comparison. |
NanoReview also displays Geekbench 6 scores favoring the G99: 727 versus 688 in single-core and 2,047 versus 1,900 in multi-core results. 91mobiles displays Geekbench scores favoring its Dimensity 6100+ entry. Because the databases disagree and aggregated results can reflect different phones and testing conditions, these figures are evidence about the listed datasets—not a controlled, matched-phone test or a reliable promise of performance in every device.

What the chipset comparison means when choosing a phone
Neither chipset specification nor benchmark aggregate settles which phone is the better purchase. If you are comparing actual models, assess the details that vary by handset:
- Network support: Check 5G availability and the exact model’s supported bands for your carrier and region.
- Configuration and price: Compare the regional variant, RAM, storage, and current price rather than assuming all phones with the same chip are equivalent.
- Battery and charging: Battery capacity and charging support are handset features; the chipset comparison does not establish which phone lasts longer.
- Display: Compare the panel quality and the phone’s chosen refresh rate, not only the platform maximums.
- Gaming and sustained use: Look for device-specific thermal and sustained-performance testing. Cooling and manufacturer tuning can influence results.
- Software support: Check the update policy and software experience for the particular model.
For examples of phones listed with the Dimensity 6100+, 91mobiles includes the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G and realme 11x. Availability and specifications can vary by market, so verify the exact regional model before relying on a listing.
