Rodri is EA’s highest-rated center defensive midfielder (CDM) in EA SPORTS FC 27, with a 90 overall rating. Joshua Kimmich and Declan Rice follow at 88, alongside Patri Guijarro and Yui Hasegawa, who are tied at that rating on EA’s full list. Which one suits you depends on the attributes you value: Rodri leads this shortlist in defending, Kimmich in passing, and Guijarro in physicality.
Who are the best CDMs in FC 27?
EA’s FC 27 Center Defensive Midfielder Player Ratings names Rodri, Kimmich, and Rice as its top three. The complete list also includes Guijarro and Hasegawa at 88 OVR, so the answer depends on whether “best” means EA’s named top three or every player tied at the next rating.
| Player | OVR | PAC | SHO | PAS | DRI | DEF | PHY |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rodri | 90 | 62 | 78 | 86 | 81 | 85 | 81 |
| Joshua Kimmich | 88 | 71 | 73 | 90 | 84 | 81 | 79 |
| Declan Rice | 88 | 72 | 75 | 86 | 81 | 85 | 84 |
| Patri Guijarro | 88 | 78 | 82 | 83 | 88 | 84 | 88 |
| Yui Hasegawa | 88 | 77 | 71 | 86 | 88 | 81 | 68 |
These are EA’s published Player Item attributes, not independent measurements of on-pitch performance. The ratings page ranks first by OVR; EA says further ordering uses subjective factors based on real-life performance, not item attributes.
Which FC 27 CDM should you choose?
For the highest overall rating: Rodri
Rodri’s 90 OVR is the highest among the CDMs in EA’s list. His 85 DEF is tied with Rice for the best defending figure among the five players shown, while his 86 PAS is below Kimmich’s 90.
#1 Best Overall
- The latest entry in the EA SPORTS FC football simulation series.
For passing: Joshua Kimmich
Kimmich has the highest passing attribute in this group at 90 PAS. His 81 DEF is lower than Rodri’s and Rice’s 85, so the ratings point to a passing-first option rather than the strongest defensive figure in this comparison.
For pace and physicality: Declan Rice
Rice has 72 PAC and 84 PHY. That makes him the fastest of EA’s named top three and gives him a higher physicality figure than Rodri or Kimmich; Guijarro and Hasegawa have higher pace figures among all five tied-or-top players.

The six attributes are pace (PAC), shooting (SHO), passing (PAS), dribbling (DRI), defending (DEF), and physicality (PHY).
