What does the Nord 4’s price premium buy?
A higher-tier listed processor and newer memory specifications
The Nord 4 pairs a Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 with LPDDR5X RAM. Its 256GB configurations use UFS 4.0 storage, while its 128GB configuration uses UFS 3.1. The CE4 lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage at both capacities. On paper, that makes the Nord 4 the higher-spec platform, particularly in the 256GB version. Specifications alone do not establish a particular real-world speed advantage: everyday performance also depends on software, workload and sustained use.
91mobiles lists Geekbench multi-core scores of 4,365 for the Nord 4 and 2,950 for the CE4. These are publisher-reported comparison figures, not a controlled test conducted for this article, and a benchmark score does not guarantee how a phone will perform in a specific app or game. Both phones have AMOLED displays with refresh rates up to 120Hz. The Nord 4’s 2772 × 1240 resolution is higher than the CE4’s 2412 × 1080, and OnePlus lists its peak brightness at 2,150 nits versus 1,100 nits for the CE4. That gives the Nord 4 the stronger display specification; peak brightness should not be read as a promise that the screen sustains that level in all conditions.
More video options and longer support commitments
The Nord 4’s rear camera specifications include 4K recording at 60fps as well as 30fps; the CE4 lists 4K at 30fps. Both have a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultrawide, but similar megapixel counts do not prove equivalent image quality.
OnePlus lists at least four generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the Nord 4, versus at least two OS upgrade generations and three years of security updates for the CE4. Those periods run from each model’s launch, not from the date of purchase. The Nord 4 was announced on 16 July 2024; the CE4 launched earlier, on 4 April 2024, according to the comparison page. The promised durations therefore should not be mistaken for the remaining support time today. OnePlus’s Nord 4 launch release is dated 16 July 2024.

Where the Nord CE4 5G has an advantage
MicroSD expansion
The CE4 supports a microSD card of up to 1TB, useful if you want removable storage for photos, videos or other files. Its card shares one of the phone’s two SIM slots, so using microSD affects the SIM configuration. OnePlus does not list microSD expansion for the Nord 4.

Lower listed MRP and lighter weight
The CE4 has the lower listed MRP at both shared storage tiers, and its listed weight of approximately 186g is about 13.5g below the Nord 4’s 199.5g. Those differences may matter more than the Nord 4’s upgrades if price or a lighter handset is your priority.
Battery and charging: same ratings, not a guaranteed tie
Both specifications list a 5,500mAh battery and 100W SUPERVOOC charging, so rated capacity and charging power do not distinguish the models. They do not guarantee equal battery life: actual endurance depends on factors such as display settings, network conditions, software and how the phone is used.
91mobiles reports PCMark battery-test figures of 16 hours 58 minutes for the Nord 4 and 16 hours 02 minutes for the CE4. These are results attributed to a named test by that publisher, not a promise of everyday screen time or a result for every user. See 91mobiles’ comparison.
Which OnePlus Nord should you choose?
Choose the Nord 4 if
- You want the higher-tier listed chipset and newer RAM specifications.
- You value the higher-resolution display and higher listed peak brightness.
- You want UFS 4.0 storage in the 256GB configurations, or 4K video at 60fps.
- You prioritize the longer stated software-support commitment and accept the price premium at the actual price you find.
Choose the Nord CE4 5G if
- You want the lower listed MRP and the final price is the deciding factor.
- You need microSD storage and are comfortable sharing a SIM slot with the card.
- You prefer the lighter listed handset and can accept the lower-tier processor specifications and shorter support commitment.
For a fair buying decision, compare the same storage tier and the final price from the seller, then weigh that against display, storage expansion, video and support needs. The 256GB models are not identical in storage standard: OnePlus lists UFS 4.0 for the Nord 4 and UFS 3.1 for the CE4.
