To add apps to a Sharp AQUOS TV, first identify its smart-TV platform: the steps differ for Android TV, Roku TV, Google TV, Xumo TV, and older AQUOS NET sets. Some models have an app store; some older models only offer a limited list of network services. If an app is not available for your TV’s platform or region, a compatible HDMI streaming player may be an alternative, but it runs apps separately from the TV.
Identify your Sharp TV model and platform first
Find the complete model number on the label on the TV or in its Settings, About, or System screen. Then confirm which interface the TV uses. Sharp’s AQUOS range includes several platform families, and the model number alone should not be treated as proof that every AQUOS has the same app store or menus.
For example, Sharp identifies the 4T-C70BK2UD as an Android TV with Google Play access, while its product materials also list AQUOS models with Roku TV, Google TV, and Xumo TV. Older sets may use AQUOS NET instead. Check the TV’s manual or Sharp’s consumer support portal for model-specific documentation.
Add apps using the TV’s platform
Android TV with Google Play
If your AQUOS has Android TV and Google Play, open the Apps area or Google Play Store, search for the app, select it, and follow the on-screen installation prompts. Sharp’s specification sheet confirms Google Play support for the 4T-C70BK2UD specifically; it does not make these instructions universal to every AQUOS model. Menus and available apps can vary with software version, country, and language. Sharp also notes that most streaming media sources require a membership.
#1 Best Overall
- Deep Chroma Quantum Dot Technology
- Dolby Vision
- Voice Control Remote
- Alexa And Apple Home Integration
Roku TV
- Press Home to open the Roku home screen.
- Open the streaming-channel or app catalog and search for the desired channel.
- Select it and follow the on-screen add flow.
Sharp AQUOS Roku TVs use Roku’s built-in platform. The available catalog and exact menu wording may change, so follow the labels shown on your TV.
Google TV
Open the Google TV Apps or search interface, find the app, and follow the prompts shown on screen. Sharp lists AQUOS models with Google TV, but the precise screens and availability depend on the model, region, and software version. Do not use Android TV or Roku instructions unless your TV actually displays that platform.
Xumo TV
Use the Xumo TV on-screen app interface to find and select available apps. Sharp’s product listings identify AQUOS models using Xumo TV, but they do not establish one universal installation sequence for every model and region. Follow the TV’s prompts and consult its model-specific manual if the interface differs.

Older AQUOS NET models
Some older AQUOS sets do not have an open app store for installing arbitrary apps. For the LC-40LE830U, LC-46LE830U, LC-52LE830U, and LC-60LE830U, Sharp’s manual describes pressing APPS, selecting “AQUOS ADVANTAGE LIVE,” and choosing an available service. It also describes opening the AQUOS NET home page and selecting a listed title. These are legacy service menus, not a general modern app catalog. As the manual puts it, “The services displayed vary depending on circumstances.”

- Confirm the TV is connected to the internet.
- Check the country or region setting where the platform provides one.
- Search the TV’s own app store or channel catalog using the app’s official name.
- Check for a TV software update, then search again.
- Look up the TV’s model-specific manual or ask Sharp support whether the app is supported.
If the app still does not appear, it may not support that TV model, platform, or region. Availability can also depend on the service itself, and some streaming services require a paid membership.
Can an HDMI streaming player add the app?
A compatible HDMI streaming player can be a workaround if its own platform offers the app. It does not install the app into the Sharp TV: you switch the TV to the player’s HDMI input and use the player’s interface. Before choosing one, check that the TV has a compatible HDMI input and that the player supports the service in your region. Any subscription required by the service still applies.
Quick Recap
Quick troubleshooting checklist
- Not sure where the app store is: identify the platform first; there is no single “Sharp app store” path for all AQUOS televisions.
- The app search returns no result: verify the official app name, internet connection, region, and platform compatibility.
- The TV is an older model: check its manual for AQUOS NET or AQUOS ADVANTAGE LIVE options; do not assume it can download current apps.
- The built-in platform does not offer the app: check Sharp’s model documentation or support, or consider an HDMI player that supports the app.
