To install a Samsung stacking kit, first confirm that the kit is compatible with the exact washer and dryer model numbers, then follow the instructions for that kit family. Samsung’s standard and Bespoke kits use different parts and installation sequences. Unplug both appliances before work, and have two people lift the dryer onto the washer.
Check compatibility before you begin
Find the model number of both appliances and the SKU of the stacking kit. Samsung says the kit must be compatible with both the washer and dryer; a kit that fits one pair is not automatically suitable for another. Samsung’s US overview describes SKK-8K as designed for most Samsung 27-inch front-load laundry pairs, but “most” is not confirmation for a specific combination. Verify your exact models in the support information for your region.
Samsung publishes separate instructions for standard Stacking and MultiControl kits and for Bespoke kits. Their parts and steps differ, so do not combine procedures or assume the kits are interchangeable. - Read the installation guide supplied with the exact kit before moving either appliance.
- Unplug the appliances before installation.
- Arrange for two people to lift and position the dryer on the washer, as Samsung specifies.
- For a standard kit, Samsung cautions against laying the dryer directly on the floor because it may be scratched; use a non-slippery surface as directed in its instructions.
Install a standard Stacking or MultiControl kit
Samsung’s US standard-kit instructions describe the following general sequence. The exact hardware, screw order, and cable connections should come from the guide for your kit and appliance pair.

- Place the dryer on a non-slippery surface and tilt it onto its side as directed.
- Secure the dryer legs, then insert the stacking support guides into the rectangular openings in the dryer base until they click.
- Loosely install the rear brackets on the washer.
- With two people, lift the dryer onto the washer and slide it back against the brackets.
- Align the brackets with the dryer’s mounting holes. Tighten the dryer-side and washer-side screws in the order specified in the kit guide.
- Install the right-side stacking bracket and left-side rear bracket as directed. Connect the wire at the appliance ports without pulling it, close the covers, and secure the wire holders.
Kit contents can vary by model and market. For example, Samsung Canada describes SKK-8MC as including two stacking support guides, a rear bracket, screws, washers, and an assembly bracket. Use the parts list and procedure for your own kit, not a general component list. See Samsung Canada’s guide.
Install a Bespoke stacking kit
Samsung’s Bespoke instructions describe a different assembly. The listed parts include an installation guide, hex-head and Phillips pan-head screws, washers, left and right top-cover brackets, a front cover, a bracket guide, and a stacking guide. Follow the supplied guide for the exact kit; the broad sequence is:

- Install the bracket guide and front cover.
- Connect the MultiControl cable at the designated ports on both appliances, then attach the wire holders as directed.
The Bespoke sequence is not a substitute for the standard-kit procedure. Consult Samsung’s instructions for the kit family you have.
Stop if the parts do not line up
Do not force a bracket, leave out a supplied part, or substitute unrelated hardware. Recheck both appliance model numbers, the kit SKU, and the kit’s installation guide. If the parts still do not match, contact Samsung support or a qualified installer rather than proceeding with an uncertain fit.

When to use installation service
Samsung describes installation service for customers purchasing a washer, dryer, and stacking kit. Availability depends on location and purchase channel, so check the options offered where you are buying or contact Samsung in your region. If you cannot safely manage the lift or follow the kit-specific procedure, professional installation is an alternative to self-installation.
