Nicht automatisch. Den Standort mit Freunden zu teilen kann Treffen und Absprachen erleichtern, aber daraus entsteht keine Pflicht zur dauerhaften Freigabe. Entscheide bewusst, wer deinen Standort sehen darf, teile ihn nur so lange wie nötig und prüfe regelmäßig, ob die Freigabe noch passt.
Wann Standortfreigabe sinnvoll ist – und wann nicht
Eine Freigabe kann praktisch sein, wenn ihr euch an einem bestimmten Ort treffen wollt oder jemand deine Ankunft nachvollziehen soll. Für solche Situationen ist eine zeitlich begrenzte Freigabe meist passender als ein dauerhaft geteilter Standort. Die offiziellen Funktionsbeschreibungen erklären, wie Freigaben eingerichtet und beendet werden; sie belegen nicht, dass Standortteilen allgemein Vertrauen schafft oder die Sicherheit garantiert.
Du musst weder allen Freunden noch einer Person deinen Standort zeigen. Eine Anfrage abzulehnen oder eine bestehende Freigabe später zu widerrufen, ist eine legitime Entscheidung. Standortteilen sollte auf freiwilliger Zustimmung beruhen – ohne Druck oder die Erwartung, dass Freundschaft ständige Erreichbarkeit bedeutet.

So entscheidest du, was du teilst
- Empfänger auswählen: Teile den Standort nur mit den Personen, die ihn für den konkreten Zweck benötigen. Eine Freigabe an ausgewählte Personen ist etwas anderes als ein Zugriff für alle, die bereits eine Freigabe haben.
- Passende Dauer wählen: Wenn du den Standort für ein Treffen oder den Heimweg teilst, wähle – sofern der Dienst es anbietet – eine Dauer, die zu diesem Anlass passt. Apples „Wo ist?“-Anleitung dokumentiert eine Auswahl der Freigabedauer.
- Zugriff anschließend prüfen: Beende die Freigabe, sobald du sie nicht mehr brauchst. Prüfe auch gelegentlich, welche Personen deinen Standort weiterhin sehen können.
Standortfreigabe bei Apple und Google
Die Funktionen und Datenschutzangaben unterscheiden sich je nach Anbieter. Die folgenden Angaben beziehen sich auf die verlinkte offizielle Dokumentation und sollten nicht auf andere Dienste übertragen werden.

Apple: „Wo ist?“ und Ortungsdienste
In „Wo ist?“ kannst du beim Teilen eine Dauer auswählen, eine Anfrage ablehnen und die Freigabe für eine einzelne Person beenden. Apple dokumentiert außerdem die Möglichkeit, die Standortfreigabe für alle auszuschalten. Die Anleitung beschreibt die Optionen; die genaue Menüführung kann von Gerät und Softwareversion abhängen. Für Ortungsdienste kannst du Berechtigungen pro App verwalten oder die Ortungsdienste ausschalten. Das verhindert nicht zwingend jede ungefähre Standortableitung: Apple weist darauf hin, dass Websites auch andere Informationen wie die IP-Adresse nutzen können. Apple: Ortungsdienste & Datenschutz.

Apple erklärt, dass bestimmte Standortdaten zur Bereitstellung von „Wo ist?“ bis zu 24 Stunden gespeichert und danach gelöscht werden. Diese Angabe gilt für Apples Dienst und ist kein Nachweis für die Speicherpraxis anderer Anbieter. Apple sagt zudem, dass das „Wo ist?“-Netzwerk Ende-zu-Ende-Verschlüsselung verwendet, sodass Apple den Standort von Offline-Geräten oder meldenden Geräten nicht sehen kann. Was beim Beenden der Freigabe zu beachten ist
Eine Freigabe zu widerrufen beendet den Zugriff, kann aber für die andere Person sichtbar sein. Apple weist darauf hin, dass frühere Empfängerinnen und Empfänger möglicherweise bemerken, dass du nicht mehr teilst; auf älteren Betriebssystemen kann eine Nachricht erscheinen. Wenn du befürchtest, dass das Beenden eine heikle Sicherheitslage verschärfen könnte, berücksichtige diese Möglichkeit bei deiner Planung und suche Unterstützung bei einer vertrauenswürdigen Person. - Empfänger: Kannst du einzelne Personen auswählen, oder gilt die Freigabe für eine größere Gruppe?
- Dauer: Gibt es eine zeitliche Begrenzung oder bleibt die Freigabe aktiv, bis du sie beendest?
- Widerruf: Kannst du den Zugriff für eine Person einzeln entfernen oder die Freigabe vollständig ausschalten?
- Sichtbarkeit: Kann die andere Person erkennen, dass du die Freigabe beendet hast?
- Datenverarbeitung: Was erklärt der Anbieter über die Verarbeitung und Speicherung von Standortdaten, und welche Berechtigungen kannst du ändern?
Apple dokumentiert Angaben zu Dauer, Empfängerauswahl, Widerruf und möglicher Sichtbarkeit des Widerrufs. Die hier verlinkte Google-Dokumentation belegt die Freigabe des Echtzeitstandorts an ausgewählte Personen, aber nicht dieselbe Detailtiefe zu allen Datenschutzfragen. Ein vollständiger Gleichvergleich der Datenschutzbedingungen lässt sich daraus nicht ableiten.
