To delete a podcast download on iPhone, open Podcasts and go to Library > Downloaded. Touch and hold the episode, then tap Remove Download. For a whole show or every download, use the corresponding bulk-removal option in the same Downloaded section.
Delete one downloaded episode

Open the Podcasts app and tap Library.

Tap Downloaded, then open the show containing the episode.

Touch and hold the episode and tap Remove Download. Alternatively, swipe left on the episode in the Downloaded list and tap Remove Download.

This removes the downloaded copy from your iPhone. If you only saved the episode rather than downloading it, use Unsave in the Saved area instead. Apple documents Saved and Downloaded as separate library areas with separate actions: Apple’s iPhone guide to finding and managing episodes.

Remove downloads for one show or for all shows

| All downloaded episodes from one show | Go to Library > Downloaded, touch and hold the show, then tap Remove Downloads. |
| Every downloaded episode | Go to Library > Downloaded, tap More, choose Remove All Downloads, and confirm. |
These controls remove downloaded episodes, not saved episodes. Apple’s iPhone and iPad instructions for downloading and deleting episodes cover removing a single episode, a show’s episodes, or all downloaded episodes.
Stop played episodes from disappearing automatically
Apple Podcasts can automatically remove an episode 24 hours after it has been played. To keep played downloads, open Settings > Apps > Podcasts and turn off Remove Played Downloads. Menu wording or placement can differ slightly by iOS version and language. See Apple’s iPhone guide to Podcasts settings.

Stop future automatic downloads
To prevent new episodes from downloading automatically, open Settings > Apps > Podcasts and set Automatically Download to Off. Apple also provides automatic-download controls for individual shows. Turning this setting off affects future automatic downloads; it does not remove episodes already downloaded to the iPhone. The current setting path is documented in Apple’s Podcasts settings guide.

Unfollowing controls whether the show remains followed and whether new episodes are obtained; it is not the same action as removing existing downloads. When you unfollow a show that has downloaded episodes, Apple gives you the option to keep them or remove them from the Library. If you keep them, existing episodes remain in the Library even though new ones will not download. Unfollowing a show that has premium content does not cancel its subscription.
