The Redmi Note 13 4G is easiest to recommend if you want a large, smooth-looking AMOLED screen and useful everyday features at a budget price—and can live with modest performance. Its 6.67-inch 120Hz display, stereo speakers, expandable storage, and 5,000mAh battery are appealing; its Snapdragon 685 can make the interface feel slow and is a poor fit for demanding games. This review covers the 4G model, not the separate 5G version.
Which Redmi Note 13 is this review about?
The name “Redmi Note 13” covers distinct 4G and 5G phones. The model reviewed here is the Redmi Note 13 4G, which uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 and does not support 5G. The 5G model has a different chipset and connectivity, so its performance, network support, and specifications should not be assumed to match.
Before buying, check the listing for the exact variant, RAM and storage configuration, supported carrier bands, and regional warranty. Features and included accessories can vary by market and seller.
What are the Redmi Note 13 4G’s strengths?
A large, high-refresh AMOLED screen
The phone has a 6.67-inch, 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Notebookcheck calls the screen the phone’s main highlight, describing it as bright and color-accurate. A reviewer also measured noticeable display flickering, which may bother some flicker-sensitive users; that observation does not establish a medical effect or mean everyone will notice it.

Useful everyday hardware
The 4G model includes stereo speakers, an under-display fingerprint reader, and microSD expansion. Those features add practical value for watching video, unlocking the phone, and keeping more files without relying solely on internal storage. Xiaomi’s published series specifications also list a 3.5mm headphone jack, but confirm that the specification applies to the regional SKU you are considering.
A large battery and wired charging
GSMArena lists a 5,000mAh battery and 33W wired charging. Xiaomi’s series document lists a 33W charger in the box for the relevant global specification, but bundled accessories can differ by market and retailer. Check the contents of the particular unit rather than assuming an adapter is included.
What are the main drawbacks?
Performance can feel slow
The Snapdragon 685 is the main compromise. GSMArena reports slowdowns even in the interface and describes the chipset as too weak for a consistently smooth experience. Notebookcheck’s benchmark comparisons also show weak gaming results against the Motorola Moto G54 in that review’s comparison set. These are review findings, not a universal ranking, but they are a sensible warning if you play demanding games or expect consistently brisk responses.

For messaging, browsing, video, and other basic tasks, the phone may be adequate if your expectations are modest. If gaming or smooth multitasking is a priority, compare current alternatives in your local market and look for independent testing of the exact model.
Camera results have limits
The rear cameras are a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro; the front camera is 16MP. These figures describe sensor resolution, not image quality. Tech Advisor characterizes the main camera’s results as reasonable in good light and poor at night, so do not choose this phone based on its 108MP headline alone if low-light photography matters to you.

IP54 is not waterproofing
The phone is listed with IP54 protection, which should be understood as limited dust and splash resistance—not permission to submerge it. Xiaomi says its testing took place under specific laboratory conditions that do not correspond to normal use, and that liquid damage is not covered by warranty. Treat the rating as a limited safeguard, not a guarantee against water damage.

Should you buy the Redmi Note 13 4G?
Consider it if a large AMOLED display and useful basics matter more to you than gaming speed or a consistently snappy interface. Skip it if demanding games, low-light photography, or fast app and menu response are important priorities. The right choice also depends on the price you can actually get: Notebookcheck recorded US$219.69 for an 8GB/256GB model in 2024, but that is a historical listing, not a current price or recommendation.
Do not use the 4G review as a verdict on the Redmi Note 13 5G. Compare the exact variants available to you on chipset performance, supported local bands, camera results, update support, and price. GSMArena reports Android 13 with MIUI 14 at review time; current operating-system status, security patches, and remaining update support are not established here, so check Xiaomi’s support information for your region before relying on a long-term support claim.
