The Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is the stronger fit if you want a Super AMOLED display, a slimmer and lighter body, and Samsung’s higher-resolution listed selfie camera. The realme P4x 5G suits buyers who prioritize a larger battery, 45 W charging, and a higher listed refresh rate. Smartprix listed the P4x ₹6,026 below the A36 on September 24, 2026, but that dated price gap is not a guarantee of today’s offer.
Samsung Galaxy A36 vs realme P4x specs at a glance

The display, battery, body, and camera specifications are not a complete measure of real-world quality. In particular, refresh rate alone does not establish which screen looks better, and megapixel counts do not establish which phone takes better photos.
How much is the price difference?

Which phone has the better display?
The Galaxy A36 has the more clearly differentiated panel type: Samsung India specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display at 120 Hz. Smartprix lists the P4x with a slightly larger 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD and a higher 144 Hz refresh rate.
Choose the A36 if AMOLED is your priority. Choose the P4x if you prefer its larger listed refresh-rate figure. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion appear smoother, but it does not by itself prove better brightness, color, contrast, or overall display quality.
Which phone is better for battery life and charging?
The P4x has the larger stated capacity: realme lists a 7,000 mAh battery and 45 W charging, along with bypass charging. Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery for the A36 and claims up to 29 hours of video playback. That playback figure is Samsung’s manufacturer claim, not a matched independent test against the P4x.

One comparison-site test offers a different, but still limited, data point: 91mobiles reported battery-test results of 17 hours 38 minutes for the P4x and 9 hours 21 minutes for the A36. Those results are from one publisher, and its methodology was not verified here; actual endurance depends on workload, settings, network conditions, and other factors. Treat the figures as an indication from that test, not a promise for your own use.
What do the camera specifications say?
Samsung India lists a 50 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP rear-camera array and a 12 MP front camera for the A36. 91mobiles lists a 50 MP main rear camera and an 8 MP front camera for the P4x. The A36 therefore has the higher documented front-camera resolution in these sources, while the P4x listing here establishes only its main rear-camera resolution.
These specifications do not settle which phone produces better photos or video. Sensor and lens performance, image processing, and shooting conditions matter, and there is no matched photo comparison in the available evidence.

Are there meaningful differences in performance and software support?
Benchmark results
91mobiles reported Geekbench multi-core scores of 2,690 for the A36 and 2,994 for the P4x. These are third-party results rather than manufacturer guarantees; test conditions can affect scores, and a benchmark result alone does not establish how a phone will feel in every task.
Update duration
91mobiles’ comparison listing gives the A36 six years of OS updates and six years of security updates, compared with two years of OS updates and three years of security updates for the P4x. These durations are secondary-source figures, not confirmed here against current official policy pages. If update longevity is a deciding factor, verify the applicable commitment for the exact India-market model with Samsung or realme before purchase.
