Not necessarily. In the United States, Samsung lists a 6-foot straight power cord in the dishwasher kit included with its Delivery + Installation service. That does not establish that every dishwasher sold without that service—or by another retailer—comes with a cord in the box. Check the contents for your exact model and order before delivery.
What Samsung says is included
Samsung’s US delivery instructions distinguish between service options. For Delivery + Installation, Samsung lists a dishwasher kit that includes a 6-foot straight power cord, along with other installation items. For Delivery Only, the kit is described as an accessory required for installation service. These service descriptions do not confirm the contents of every separately purchased dishwasher carton.
If you are buying without Samsung installation, ask the retailer to confirm the included-parts list for your order, or check the packaging and documentation for the exact model. Samsung’s dishwasher setup guide says its overview does not replace the model’s user manual and installation guide.
Check which electrical connection your kitchen has
Outlet and power cord
Samsung’s US delivery checklist describes an outlet setup requiring a grounded 110/120-volt, three-prong outlet on a dedicated 15- or 20-amp breaker, located within five feet of the installation location. Samsung notes that a GFCI or Arc Fault GFCI outlet may be required depending on local building codes. These are Samsung’s US guidance details; check local requirements and the installation guide for your model.

Hardwired connection
Some installations use a hardwired connection rather than a cord and receptacle. Samsung’s setup guide describes connecting power conductors in a junction box, while its delivery guidance also gives conditions for hardwired installations handled by its installation team. Follow the instructions for your exact model and local electrical rules; consult a qualified installer if you are unsure which connection applies.
What to verify before delivery
- Confirm whether your order includes Samsung Delivery + Installation or delivery only, and ask what installation parts are included with that specific order.
- Find your dishwasher’s model number and consult its installation guide to identify the permitted connection type and required parts.
- Check whether the kitchen has the electrical connection specified for the model and whether it meets applicable local code.
- If you need to buy a cord or kit separately, verify compatibility with the model and connection type before purchasing.
Samsung’s safety instructions say not to use an extension cord for the dishwasher. Do not substitute one if the outlet is too far away; have the connection assessed and corrected as appropriate.

Other installation parts may also be separate
A power cord is not the only item to check. Samsung says its US dishwasher purchase does not include the water supply line or 90-degree elbow. Its water-supply requirements direct buyers to the user manual for the exact material and connection requirements, so confirm those parts as well as the electrical hookup.
