People are using Meta’s Muse AI app to handle practical tasks that involve connected accounts: contacting customer service, organizing email, finding jobs, comparing options, and making purchases. Meta describes Muse as an agent that can operate a browser, fill forms, and continue some work in the background—not just answer questions. The examples below come from selected user posts and reporting, not a representative survey or independently verified results, so treat reported savings and successful outcomes as anecdotes.

Meta announced a US rollout in September 2026 for iOS, Android, and the web, with AI glasses planned later; the Associated Press reported the initial launch was for people 18 and over. Availability can change, so check your local app store or Meta’s current product information. Meta’s launch announcement and the Associated Press report provide launch context.

What Muse can do—and what to check first

Meta says Muse can work through connected services, use a browser, fill forms, and make progress on longer tasks after the app is closed. The App Store listing describes use cases including email, scheduling, shopping, budgeting, fitness, and small-business work. These are advertised capabilities, not a guarantee that every service or task will work as expected. Meta’s announcement describes the agent and its access channels; the App Store listing describes the app’s features and cautions that Muse may be inaccurate or take unexpected actions.

To act on your behalf, Muse needs relevant connected accounts and permissions. Meta says users can choose which apps to connect, set access levels, disconnect services, and inspect an activity log. Meta also says Muse asks for approval before sensitive actions such as sending email or making a purchase. Those controls are useful safeguards, but they do not replace checking the result—especially when an action affects money, work, travel, or other people. Meta’s launch post explains its stated controls.

10 ways people are using Meta’s Muse AI app

1. Get through customer service and reach a person

A user quoted by Tom’s Guide said they asked Muse to contact a home insurer and get a human representative on the call, then hand the call over once a person answered. It is one person’s account, not evidence that Muse can reliably navigate phone systems or reach a representative at every company. Stay available to take over, and verify any commitment made during the call.

2. Cancel a service and follow up on a fee

Another user in the same roundup said Muse canceled Verizon home internet through online chat and obtained what they described as an inconvenience payment. That report does not establish that a provider will approve a credit or that a cancellation will be processed correctly. Confirm the account status, effective cancellation date, equipment-return requirements, and any final charges directly with the provider.

3. Find jobs and prepare applications

A Reddit user quoted in the roundup described asking Muse to find operations and facilities roles, tailor a résumé, complete application forms, and submit applications. This workflow can involve sensitive personal details and consequential claims about your experience. Check each job, résumé version, answer, and completed form yourself before anything is submitted.

4. Put together a small-business website or shop

A user said Muse worked with Gmail and Squarespace to create a blog page and a merchandise shop, with the user making refinements afterward. This is an example of delegating setup work, not proof that Muse can deliver a polished, compliant, or functioning storefront without review. Check the wording, links, product details, checkout flow, and any customer-facing policies before publishing.

5. Compare insurance options

One user posted that Muse compared auto policies and switched them to a plan they said saved $3,500 per year. That is a reported individual claim, not verified savings or a typical result. Before changing coverage, compare equivalent limits and deductibles, exclusions, fees, and the dates of both the new policy and the old policy’s cancellation. A lower premium may come with less protection.

6. Negotiate a recurring bill

Meta lists negotiation as a kind of task Muse can perform. A user quoted by Tom’s Guide said Muse chatted with Verizon Fios and reduced their bill, claiming $180 in annual savings. Treat that figure as the user’s reported result, not an expected discount. Review the next bill and confirm whether the change affected speed, equipment, promotional pricing, or contract terms.

7. Respond to a flight disruption

A social-media post described Muse finding another flight and pursuing a delayed-flight credit; Meta’s launch post also names travel booking as an example task. Before accepting a change, verify the dates, airports, passenger names, connections, fare conditions, and any extra cost. Check the airline’s rules and supporting details for a compensation claim rather than assuming an agent’s submission will be accepted.

8. Coordinate errands and purchases

One user described delegating purchases, grocery ordering, a cleaning-service booking, a food order, and subscription cancellations. Meta says Muse can compare prices and track deals, and that it requests approval before purchases. Review the cart, total, delivery address and time, substitutions, service terms, and cancellation rules before approving an order or booking. For cancellations, verify that the service actually ended.

9. Tidy email and keep household work moving

A reported user said Muse cleaned an old inbox, pursued a refund, and booked HVAC maintenance. Separately, a Tom’s Guide reporter described building a shared household web app with a family calendar, chores, grocery list, meal planning, and reminders, prompted by the question, “What does everyone need to do today?” These examples show how an agent might help with administrative work, but review messages before they are sent, deletions before they are finalized, and appointment details before a service visit.

10. Find and buy a specific item

Shopify president Harley Finkelstein was quoted in Tom’s Guide describing a sneaker purchase through Muse and Shop Pay. Meta’s launch materials describe shopping and Link checkout, and said Shop Pay was coming soon at the time of that announcement. The later anecdote does not establish that Shop Pay or any particular checkout method is available to every user, merchant, or market. Check the item, seller, total, shipping, and return terms before completing a purchase.

How to decide what to delegate

A useful way to judge a task is to ask what Muse would need to access, whether it is only preparing information or taking an external action, and how difficult that action would be to reverse. A draft shopping list is different from a submitted job application; finding a flight is different from booking it. Keep the approval point clear, and use the activity log to review what the agent did when that record is available.

  • Lower-stakes preparation: Ask Muse to gather options, organize information, or draft a message. Review the result before using it.
  • Actions with financial or account consequences: Inspect the total, terms, recipient, timing, and account affected before approving a purchase, cancellation, booking, or plan change.
  • High-impact or sensitive tasks: Closely check applications, insurance decisions, messages containing personal information, and changes that could be hard to reverse. Consider doing the final submission yourself.
  • Recurring work: If you delegate an ongoing task, decide how often to review it and what kinds of actions need fresh approval.

Privacy, reliability, and the limits of the examples

Meta says Muse runs in a dedicated virtual machine and offers controls for connected apps and access levels. Meta also says conversations and VM data are not shared with its ad systems. Those are Meta’s descriptions of its system and policies, not an independent audit. In a separate report, Tom’s Guide described internal instructions examined by a researcher that could create information pages about people in a user’s life, including people who do not use Muse. The report also said each user has a separate VM and did not find evidence of one shared profile for every non-user. The narrower privacy consideration is that information you share about another person may become part of your own agent’s context. Tom’s Guide’s account of the report explains its scope.

Meta’s safety lead Tarek Sheasha wrote that early internal use of inboxes, calendars, and a shell “didn’t always work out as planned.” That is a reminder that granting an agent access is not the same as delegating judgment. Meta’s App Store listing likewise warns that Muse may be inaccurate or take unexpected actions and tells users to check in and intervene as needed. Meta’s safety post describes the company’s approach.

The savings and task-completion stories above are selected posts gathered by Tom’s Guide, not a representative survey. The cited material does not establish how common any use is, how often Muse succeeds, or whether the reported savings were independently verified. A separate first-person account of email and deadline assistance is available from TechRadar, but it is also a qualitative account rather than a success-rate measure.
