The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G is a compelling fit if you value an unusually thin, light phone with a large high-refresh-rate AMOLED screen and stereo sound. Its slimness comes with a real trade-off: GadgetMatch found demanding games could require lower settings and sustained intensive use made the phone hot. The 6,000mAh battery is substantial on paper, but the review’s hotspot test ran from about 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. before depletion. This is a media-focused, everyday-use phone—not an obvious pick for long gaming sessions or dependable moving-subject photography.
What makes the CAMON Slim 5G stand out?
Its defining feature is the body: TECNO lists dimensions of 162.58 × 77.27 × 6.39 mm, while GadgetMatch reports a weight of 171 g. The reviewer found it easy to hold for longer periods. That does not make it the slimmest phone in TECNO’s range, however; GadgetMatch points to the earlier SPARK Slim as thinner. TECNO’s Philippines specifications provide the dimensions, and GadgetMatch’s October 1, 2026 review reports the weight and handling impression.
Display and sound: the phone’s strongest media features
TECNO specifies a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. Its stated 1208 × 2644 resolution needs an important qualification: TECNO says the T1 chip upscales the image from the GPU’s native 1080 × 2364 output. The high listed resolution therefore should not be read as the GPU rendering every frame at that native pixel count. The phone also has dual speakers and Dolby Atmos, according to TECNO’s regional specifications and product page.
Gaming and heat: where the thin design asks for compromise
The CAMON Slim 5G uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G, per TECNO. In GadgetMatch’s review, some demanding games needed lower graphics and frame-rate settings, and the phone became hot during sustained intensive use. The reviewer attributed the heat to limited room for cooling in the slim chassis; that is the reviewer’s assessment, not an independently measured thermal analysis. If extended high-setting gaming is a priority, these reported limitations matter more than the phone’s headline refresh rate.

Battery capacity and charging in the review
TECNO lists a 6,000mAh battery and 45W charging. In two reported full-charge attempts, GadgetMatch timed charging from 0% to 100% at 1 hour 22 minutes and 1 hour 23 minutes, respectively. Those are the reviewer’s results, not a guaranteed charging time for every unit or charging condition.
For runtime, the review describes one specific scenario: the reviewer used the phone as a hotspot from about 5 a.m. until about 7 p.m., when it was depleted. That is useful context for a sustained, power-intensive use case, but it is not a general battery-life estimate. Capacity alone cannot predict runtime across different signal strength, screen use, apps, and settings.

Camera: usable everyday shots, with limits
TECNO lists a 50MP main camera and an 8MP autofocus ultra-wide camera. Despite the rear design’s triple-lens appearance, GadgetMatch reports that there are two rear shooters. The reviewer found the main camera capable of usable everyday photos, but also reported inconsistent white balance and color, blur when subjects moved, and poor results beyond 2x digital zoom. Those observations suggest the camera is less dependable for action or distant subjects than the megapixel figure alone might imply.

GadgetMatch describes MagBadge as a small circular display used with the bundled magnetic clear case. It can act as a monitor for the rear camera and provide a remote shutter. The reviewer reported that the feature was limited to the CAMON Slim 5G, encountered software problems, and could not get it working with another TECNO phone. Treat it as a model-specific bonus rather than a proven accessory for other phones; independent standalone availability is not established.

Should you choose the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G?
| Consider it if… | Think twice if… |
|---|---|
| You want a very thin, light phone that is comfortable to hold. | You regularly play demanding games for long sessions and want to avoid lowering settings or dealing with reported heat. |
| You prioritize a large AMOLED display, high refresh rate, and dual speakers for media. | You need reliable photos of moving subjects or expect useful results at more than 2x digital zoom. |
| You like the idea of a large battery and a niche rear-camera monitor accessory. | You need a predictable runtime figure for your own workload, or broad compatibility from MagBadge. |
GadgetMatch’s published review title, “Slim on size, big on surprise,” captures the phone’s appeal, but the buying decision turns on what you value most: portability and media features, or sustained gaming and camera consistency. GadgetMatch’s review supplies the hands-on observations; TECNO’s Philippines tech specifications establish the listed hardware.
