The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite has a more fully documented spec sheet, but the available evidence does not support a complete, like-for-like verdict against the Phone (2a). The Lite’s manufacturer-listed hardware includes a 6.77-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display, a 50 MP main camera, a 5,000 mAh battery and 33 W charging. Its price depends on the country and configuration; the available Nothing listings do not establish a current Phone (2a) price or a universal price difference.
Price difference: compare the same market and storage tier
There is no reliable single price difference to quote without matching current offers for both phones in the same country and configuration. Nothing storefront observations illustrate why: the Lithuanian shop listed the Phone (3a) Lite at €259 and €289 across listings or configurations, while Nothing Malaysia listed it at MYR 1,199. These are regional storefront prices, not evidence of a global price or a like-for-like comparison with the Phone (2a). Prices and stock can change.
Nothing’s Malaysian product information lists the Phone (3a) Lite in 8 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB configurations. Confirm the variants actually sold in your country, then compare the same storage tier and whether each offer is official retail, promotional, or from a third-party seller. A current Phone (2a) price was not established in the available listings.

What the documented differences mean
Chipset: model names are not performance tests
The reported chipsets are Dimensity 7200 Pro for the Phone (2a) and Dimensity 7300 Pro for the Phone (3a) Lite. Their names alone do not establish which phone is faster in daily use, gaming, heat management or battery efficiency. No benchmark results or hands-on testing are available here, so treat this as a chipset identification rather than a performance ranking.
Display and cameras: the Lite’s details are clearer
Nothing specifies the Lite’s 6.77-inch AMOLED display, adaptive 120 Hz refresh, HDR10+ and peak brightness up to 3,000 nits. Those are manufacturer specifications, not an independent measurement of brightness or viewing quality. Nothing also lists three rear cameras—50 MP main, 8 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro—a 16 MP front camera and 4K recording. Without corresponding Phone (2a) specifications from a matching official source, those details do not prove that the Lite has a better screen or camera system.

Battery and charging
Both phones are reported with 5,000 mAh batteries: Nothing lists that capacity for the Lite, while Gadgets 360 reports it for the Phone (2a) at launch in India. Nothing specifies 33 W charging for the Lite; a comparable Phone (2a) charging figure is not established here. Battery capacity by itself does not predict how long either phone lasts between charges.

Nothing lists the Lite as IP54-rated and says it runs Nothing OS 3.5, with 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches. These are manufacturer-stated specifications and support commitments; check Nothing’s current regional wording when buying. Nothing Support gives its dimensions as 164.10 × 78.08 × 8.35 mm and its weight as 199.2 g, while noting measurements can vary. Comparable Phone (2a) protection, dimensions, weight and support details are not established by the sources used here.

Choose based on a verified local offer, not a guessed price gap
If price is decisive, first compare same-country listings for the same storage capacity and account for seller and promotion status. The available Phone (3a) Lite prices cannot show whether it costs more or less than the Phone (2a) where you live.
Prefer the Lite when its documented features and support match your needs
The Phone (3a) Lite is the more straightforward choice if you want the listed 120 Hz AMOLED display, 50 MP main camera with ultra-wide and macro companions, 33 W charging, IP54 rating, or its stated update period—and can verify the relevant configuration and support terms in your market.

Do not treat missing Phone (2a) data as a disadvantage
The Phone (2a) may still be the better buy if its verified local price, configuration or full specifications suit you more. The evidence here establishes its reported chipset and battery capacity, but not enough matching details to make a complete spec-by-spec winner claim. Check regional product or support information for both models before deciding.
