Angular warning NG02802 means browser-side code read a response header that was not included in the server-rendered HttpTransferCache entry. Angular transfers no response headers by default. If the browser needs the header, add only that header to includeHeaders; otherwise, remove or relocate the access.
What NG02802 means
During server-side rendering, Angular can cache eligible HttpClient responses and reuse them as the browser application starts, avoiding a duplicate request. The transfer cache does not include response headers by default. If browser code accesses a header that is absent from the transferred response, Angular reports NG02802 and identifies the header and request URL. Angular documents this default as a way to avoid potential security issues and unnecessary data transfer. See the NG02802 error guide and the Angular SSR guide.
Choose whether the browser needs the header
- It does not: Remove the client-side header access or move it to code that runs on the server. This avoids transferring data the browser does not need.
- It does: Include the specific response header in the transfer-cache configuration. Avoid including sensitive values, such as authentication tokens, unless your security design explicitly permits exposing them to browser code.
Include a response header in the transfer cache
Use the casing shown in your application or Angular’s examples; HTTP header names are case-insensitive. Include only the headers required by browser-side logic.

This scopes the change to the request where the headers are needed. Angular documents this request-level option in its NG02802 guidance.

The SSR guide documents this application-wide configuration. A request’s own transferCache option can override the global transfer-cache settings for that request; see HttpTransferCacheOptions. Check the API documentation for the Angular version used by your application.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCheck that the response is eligible for transfer caching
Adding a header to includeHeaders addresses which response headers are transferred; it does not make an otherwise ineligible request cacheable. Angular’s SSR guide says GET and HEAD requests are cached by default when eligible. By default, the transfer cache excludes requests with Authorization, Proxy-Authorization, or Cookie headers; requests using credential modes that send credentials; requests or responses with cache-control directives such as no-store, no-cache, or private; and responses containing Set-Cookie. Review the SSR guide if the expected response is not being reused.

When server and browser API origins differ
If the server and browser address the same API through different origins, Angular may not recognize the requests as matching for cache reuse. The HTTP_TRANSFER_CACHE_ORIGIN_MAP token can map the server origin to the client origin. Angular specifies that this token should be provided only in server code. This is a separate origin-matching consideration, not the fix for NG02802 itself; see the HTTP_TRANSFER_CACHE_ORIGIN_MAP API reference.

Diagnose the warning efficiently
- Read the header name and request URL in the NG02802 message.
- Find the browser-side code that reads that response header and decide whether it needs to run in the browser.
- If the value is unnecessary in the browser, remove or relocate the access. If it is needed, add only that header to the request’s
transferCache.includeHeadersor to the global hydration options. - If the response still is not reused, check request eligibility and whether server and browser origins need mapping.
- Confirm the option names and behavior against the Angular documentation for the version in your project.
