To remove a third-party app connected to Facebook, open Settings > Apps and Websites, find the app, choose its removal option, and confirm. If you only want to stop one capability—such as letting the app publish posts—remove that permission instead of disconnecting the app entirely.
Remove an app’s connection to Facebook

Open Facebook and go to Settings > Apps and Websites. The wording or placement can vary by app version and account.

Find the app or website you want to disconnect and select its removal option. If Facebook shows View and Edit instead, open it and use the available removal control.

Confirm the removal when prompted. Facebook’s documented flow for managing an app permission is Apps and Websites > View and Edit > Remove > Remove.

Meta describes Your Data Settings on Facebook in Privacy Checkup as another place to review information shared with apps used to log in with Facebook and remove apps you no longer use. If you cannot find the connected-app list in Settings, look for that section in Privacy Checkup; the exact labels may differ.
Remove one permission without disconnecting the app
If you still want to use the app but do not want it to perform a specific action, review its permissions before removing the entire connection. In Apps and Websites, select View and Edit beside the app, locate the permission you want to revoke, and choose Remove, then confirm with Remove again.

For example, removing the permission to publish posts means the app can no longer publish on your behalf through that permission. Facebook notes that this does not stop friends who use the same app from tagging you in their posts. If the app does not show a post permission, Meta says it cannot publish posts on your behalf through that permission.

What removing access does—and does not do
Removing an app revokes its connection to Facebook. It does not establish that the app developer deletes information it received previously. If you want the developer to erase data already held outside Facebook, check the developer’s privacy policy or account and data-deletion controls.

Do not confuse the connected-app list with Activity Off-Meta Technologies. That separate control manages information businesses send to Meta about your activity outside Meta technologies; it is not where you remove a Facebook app connection. Meta says Activity Off-Meta Technologies is available through Accounts Center, which you can access from Facebook settings.
